What began as a home robbery last week in the Scottsdale Estates subdivi-

sion in Milan ended with one man dead and another facing homicide charges. Milan resident Robert Goupill was charged Monday in District Court in Monroe with manslaughter in the shooting death of Jerald Antonio Ogden, an alleged robber who broke into Goupills home in the early hours of Feb. 24. Goupills bond was set

at $100,000 cash or surety. As of Monday night, he still was being held in the Monroe County Jail, but on charges of delivery of a controlled substance. Milan police said Ogden and one other suspect broke into the home to steal medical marijuana. Ogden was found dead later next to a car about 200 yards from Goupills

residence where the burglary occurred. Several Facebook users commented on what they had heard or seen during the happenings last week on Groupill The Milan NewsLeader and Saline Reporter Facebook page.

The body was on the ground right outside the car with the door (passenger side) left open, wrote Rosemary Smith Griffis on Friday. They are using a metal detector to check
