My Allah, O You who knows the weights of the mountains and the trickery of the oceans and the

number of rain drops and the number of tree leaves and the number of everything on which darkness has set and daylight has risen on. Not a sky hides another sky from Him, and no earth another earth and no mountain and whats in it and no sea and whats in its bottom. And one of the immediate things that a person learns from the fact that his Allah has absolute knowledge of the unseen and the seen, is that it immediately creates in his heart a great deal of humbleness. Yes it humbles him, the more a persons knowledge in religion grows, the more he realises his imperfections, ignorance and negligence towards the Most Knowledgeable.

And may Allah have mercy on Sheikh al Islaam Ibn Taymiyya, who whenever people praised his knowledge, he would say: Nothing is from me; I have nothing, all grace is form Allah. And that is what a person should always repeat that he has nothing. All that he gets from knowledge or grace is from Allah who provides to whom He wants of His servants. What does a person know?

All that he knows is just like a tiny particle on the beach compared to this huge ocean. Its nothing but the browsing of few pages from one book compared to a library with 100,000s of books. The knowledge of Allah is a knowledge that encompasses everything and there is no knowledge in existence except that it is a small part of the knowledge of Allah that He has allowed His creatures to have when a person increases his knowledge, his knowledge of Allah, the Most Knowledgeable, increases thus creating in this persons heart fear and humbleness towards his Lord. The scholars, may Allah have mercy on them, knew this truth hence their attachment to Allah, the Most Knowledgeable. So they were keen to seek knowledge fearing Allah and asking Him to grant them beneficial knowledge. This is why Allah has restricted this quality of fearing Allah to the real scholars and said: Indeed those who fear Allah the most are the most knowledgeable. (35:28)

And what should not be forgotten when thinking about the knowledge of Allah is that it should be incentive to correct the purpose and intention behind our actions. So if you know that Allah is the Most Knowledgeable, you will have a sincere intention and you will purify what your heart conceals. You can fool many of those around you but nobody can fool Allah. Allah says about those who disobey him: Verily, the hypocrites seek to deceive Allah, but it is He Who deceives them. (3:142)

So you should, O slave of Allah, if you remember the vastness of Allahs knowledge to renew the intention behind your deed, so you do not seek with it the pleasure of others as he knows why you are doing this action and what your motives are. You can with the way you speak, changing your opinion and hiding what your hearts conceals, obtain many of the worldly things but what is with Allah is only obtained through purifying what you conceal, a sincere intention coupled with the fear of Allah and patience as the truthful Prophet Yusuf said: Verily, he who fears Allah and is patient, then surely. Allah makes not the reward of the good doers to be lost. (12:90) Remembering the attribute of the all encompassing knowledge of Allah is a powerful incentive for purifying your intention from any defects. O you who knows that Allah watches you when moving and in stillness and knows your shortcomings and mistakes. Nothing from your situation evades him. Have you put yourself into account? And said to your soul: O my soul, your Lord and your Creator the Exalted is watching your every move and stillness, knows your shortcomings and mistakes. So be alert like those who are obedient to Allah and try to be amongst those who are saved.

Your shyness in front of Allah is better for you and giving importance to Him watching over you is better for you. You have to ponder a lot, my Muslim brother and sister, when we think of the name of Allah, The Most Knowledgeable, the fact that Allah covers our sins as He knows our mistakes, sins and crimes. The one who steals, Allah knows he stole as the one who commits sins or drinks alcohol. The person who knows that nothing eludes Allah in the heavens and the earth and still he commits sins in front of him and Allah covers his sins. Doesnt he wonder about the greatness of Allahs favour upon him? Doesnt he wonder about the great mercy Allah uses when dealing with his slaves? He knows what you do and He does not expose you and if you repent, He forgives you. Allah likes to give his servant a chance so that he may come back unless this servant insists in sinning and exposes himself. Allah covers his sin at night and the servant wakes up and exposes his sins to others. O slave of Allah, your Lord and your Creator knows what is inside your heart. Should we not humble ourselves in front of Him? Should we not fear Him?
