DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision, to perform technical and procedural duties in the catalogin circulation, acquisition, and/or reference areas of the library.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMI TO): (Specific positions in this classification may have special duties and qualifications of a scope and nature. Duties listed may also vary in terms of relative importance.) 1. Perform circulation duties such as checking materials in and out, processing renew overdue notices, issuing library cards, and assisting patrons in finding and using mate equipment. 2. Provide reference services to users including extended and ready reference, and as with bibliographic and research projects. Refer complex reference inquiries to supervi senior technician. 3. Catalog library resources in accordance with established cataloging methods and in processing procedures and assist in maintaining online catalog systems. 4. Perform technical acquisition duties associated with the ordering, receiving and pro books, audio-visual, software, documents, and other library materials. 5. May research and compile bibliographic and miscellaneous data and process interlib loans, using computer systems, including commercial databases, and other resources 6. Assist in maintaining the reserve collection and liaison with faculty on items to be p reserve. 7. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements 1. Some knowledge of library classification systems and practices preferably the Libra Congress system. 2. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: This position is in the Library Department. It is a Limited Term, Level 6, 12 month, 12 hours/week position. This position begins immediately. Hours: 4:00 - 8:00 pm -Monday and Wednesday, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm Saturday. This position requires a 90-days-worked probationary period. After 6 months, salary w $19.60/hour.
