c.) SocioEconomic Status The family is socioeconomically unstable. They belong to the lower class in the society. The husband s weekly salary in the hacienda is P 400.00 and the wife s monthly salary for doing laundry is P 1,500.00.

Family Assessment based on functional Health Patterns Health Perception health management patterns Client perceives health as one of the most important things in life. She manages her health and her family s health by cooking vegetables available in their surroundings like kangkong, alugbati, okra, malunggay and tugabang. She and her family does not have a regular check up rather they just seek medical advice when they are experiencing a serious problem that they can no longer handle. Client usually self medicate every time there is an illness in the family like Biogesic for Fever and Alaxan for body pains.

Nutritional Metabolic Pattern Client eats two to three times a day. Their usual meal consists of rice and vegetables. But sometimes, due to financial instability they use cooking oil and salt as viand. They seldom eat meat like pork, beef or chicken. Client claimed that she weighs 38 kg as of December 29, 2011. Elimination Pattern Client has a regular bowel movement of at least once a day every morning at around 7 a.m. She claims that she does not experience any difficulty in bowel movement. On her urinary elimination, the client claims that she urinates 5 to 7 times a day to amber colored urine. She does not feel any difficulty during urination. Her children as well does not have any difficulty in both urinary and bowel elimination. Activity Exercise Pattern Client s typical exercise is the nature of their work doing the laundry and karga tapas for her husband. Their children walks to school whenever they don t have money for fare. Sleep Rest Pattern Client has a regular sleeping pattern of 8 to 10 hours per day starting from 8pm to 5am. They have no problems in falling asleep. They wake up early every morning to prepare for school and work. Cognitive Perceptual Pattern

Self- Perception/ self- Concept The client sees herself as a supportive and loving wife to her husband and mother to her 6 children. She is contented with what she has and learns to appreciate the things around them. Roles and Relationship The client has a simple family composed of her husband and 6 children. She has a good relationship to her family. She is well respected as a mother by her children. Her husband is always there for here as much as she is for him. Sexual Reproductive The client is still sexually active. She had an IUD in plant for almost 3 years. Coping Stress

The client claimed that financial instability is their major stressor. Being not able to buy enough food to sustain all of them, not able to send all of them to school and not able to buy medicines whenever someone is sick. When problems arise, they just cope with it through prayers and also with the help from her friends and other relatives. Values/Beliefs pattern The client s religion is Seventh Day Adventist.
