Bits and Pieces of Info to Make Life on the Ranch Easier to Manage

Whats Happening Around Town We have enjoyed a delightful week of school and had lots of fun with our special activities for Dr. Seuss birthday! It is especially neat to see that more and more of the students work is looking like first-grade work, and that is terrific because we will only have about two and a half months left of kindergarten by the time we get to the end of this upcoming week! I will be sharing information concerning your childs progress toward being ready for first grade at conferences and trust it will encourage your heart! As we head into the last two weeks before spring break, we continue to focus on adding fact families one through seven, identifying the number that comes before another number, counting by ones, tens, and fives, and telling time to the hour and half-hour. I encourage you to look for ways to practice these skills in the daily routine of life, even over spring break! The simple, short practices of adding two Cheerios plus three Cheerios will make a difference! We have been doing much more reading and writing each day and have been focusing on learning many sight words including the, and, is, has, an, a, and, see, to, go, can, like, up, my, and said as well as color and number words. We are also practicing identifying and reading special sounds, and we will be adding spl (splash) to our special sound list this week! We continue to learn about transportation as we travel around the globe, and well be stopping in the Netherlands this week for a visit! Have a terrific weekend! A Bible Course Map for the Upcoming Week

- (Jesus in the Synagogue - Lk. 4:14-32) Jesus went to the synagogue every Sabbath to meet with other people and to hear the reading of Scripture. On one particular Sabbath, Jesus read and explained the Scripture to the people. He said He was God. Though we dont worship in synagogues, we should go to church to worship with others and learn more about God. We arent saved by attending church every week, but we do grow as we learn more about the Lord. - (Blind Bartimaeus - Mk. 10:46-52; Lk. 18:35-43) Bartimaeus was a blind beggar who lived outside of Jericho. One day, Bartimaeus heard Jesus was coming, and when he heard the Savior was passing by him, he called out to Jesus. Though mocked by those around him, Bartimaeus asks the Lord to give him sight, and Jesus saw his faith and healed him. Then, Bartimaeus followed Jesus. Like Bartimaeus, we can be changed and can share what God has done for us! - Chapel review and extension. - Review of lessons from Monday and Tuesday. - No school!
