Color Shots is a pure color pigment available in 5 vivid colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue and Violet. Use Color Shots to intensify or neutralize when formulating. Recommended amount of Color Shots per 2 oz. of color: Three shots Maximum amount of Color Shots per 2 oz. of color: Six shots

Formulate with Paul Mitchell the color using equal parts color and Developer (1:1 ratio) and mix. Add the appropriate amount of Color Shots to the formulation and mix well. After color processing is complete, rinse color thoroughly out of hair and follow with Color Protect Post Color Shampoo and Color Protect Daily Conditioner. Recommend that guests use Paul Mitchell Color Care products to maintain color at home.

The quality of the final result depends on the condition of the hair with which you start. For best color results, you may need to pre-condition the hair prior to applying Paul Mitchell the color.

COLOR BALANCING PREVIOUSLY COLORED HAIR

When coloring previously colored hair, be aware that other hair color products may have progressive or undeveloped dye molecules; this means the old color may begin processing again. Because hair color products are unable to lift artificial hair color, color balancing is recommended prior to the first application of Paul Mitchell the color. Apply to previously tinted hair only. Mix equal parts of Paul Mitchell Shampoo One, 10 volume Cream Developer and Dual-Purpose Lightener. Apply to wet hair and emulsify until the slightest change in the previous color is seen. Process approximately 5-10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and shampoo with Color Protect Post Color Shampoo.

FORMULATION STEPS
1. Determine the natural level/percentage of gray. 2. Identify the target level. 3. Determine the dominant pigment at the target level. 4. Refer to the color map to determine how to neutralize or intensify the pigment.

MIXING

RE-PIGMENTATION FORMULATION STEPS

When depositing more than 2 levels on previously lightened or processed/damaged hair, re-pigmentation is recommended. Before you begin, refer to the Pre-treatment Chart in the Fabric section to identify specific products for processed or damaged hair. 1. Identify the target level of desired end result. 2. Select the proper target level re-pigmentation formula below. 3. Mix the re-pigmentation formula with equal parts 10 volume Developer and apply to damp hair. 4. Process for a minimum of 10 minutes. 5. Mix and apply the target formula directly over the re-pigmentation formula. If the target color is cool or neutral, wipe off the re-pigmentation formula. 6. Process for an additional 35 minutes.

Tonal Result Guidelines
