Project: Art is Math

DATE: _________ STUDENT: _______________________ _______________________ _______________________ EVALUATOR: Ms. Craig

Product: Art Piece and Written Instructions Students work in groups to come up with a piece of art using only lines, line segments, and rays in a two-dimensional coordinate system. Students will provide detailed instructions allowing another student to create their exact art piece.
CRITERIA
Part 1 Graph Nummeracy 20 pts AT RISK (In Danger of Failing D-F) Axes are not drawn. Axes are not labeled. Includes less than 35 lines, line segments, and rays making a piece of art. Lines, Line Segments, and Rays are not all labeled.

EMERGING (On the Road to Success B-C) Axes are drawn. Axes are labeled. (x-axis, y-axis) Includes 35 lines, line segments, or rays making a piece of art. (at least 2 of each type) Each Line, Line segment, or Ray is labeled using a letter of the alphabet or Greek alphabet. Uses technology to make final product. (mathgv.com or other graphing software) Includes more than 35 lines, line segments, and rays.
