REFLECTION

WHAT DID I DO? WHAT DID I FEEL WHILE DOING THIS? WHAT DID I LEARN?-as a i) Learner ii) Future teacher As a learner and a future teacher, I would like to learn and teach in this way because it would be an interactive learning. Apart from that, students will find it interesting to learn something new in a fun way. The specialty about this style of learning is students will not get bored and will be looking forward to play the game and learn interactively.

On 19th January 2012, our TESL cohort 5 members organized a game. I was one the player of the game. The title of the activity is, Whats Inside The Flour. It was held at M-Square near the English Department.

Generally I felt this activity as an interesting and a fun language game but it can be better if the mistakes are avoided.

The procedure of the activity : 1) We were asked to form a big circle and were given numbers. 2) Then, we queue up according to our group. 3) Instructions about the activity were given by the committee member. 4) We had to answer questions about Phrasal Verbs and will be punished if failed to do so. 5) We had to go back to the line and run towards the table containing flour and pieces of paper. 6) We have to collect the pieces of paper containing words

At the first step, I felt a little bored while waiting for my turn. When the instructor gave instructions, I was a bit angry and disappointed because I could not hear her voice clearly and it was confusing. When I wanted to blow the flour in order to take out the pieces of paper, I became impatient because I messed myself with the flour. My feelings change towards the end of the game when my group won the third. My feelings changed because I felt the idea and motive of the game was good but it should be improved.

In my opinion, I think each step is important because the activity can go on accordingly without any fuss. I learned more from the difficult steps because I have to put in more efforts for that particular step. Therefore, I remembered what I have learned. I would like to have some changes in the steps in order to make more efficient and time saving. Firstly, we can just give the group numbers while registration. Then, I should prepare a microphone and speaker in order to give clear instructions. Furthermore, I should stick the instructions on the walls

using our mouth. 7) Lastly, we have to arrange those words to form correct sentences. 8) The winner was determined by the first one who could solve the sentences.

I would not like this to happen to my pupils in school because they will mess themselves up with the flour. Furthermore, the use of the English Language is less in this game. I could help my pupils to change their feeling from good to bad by giving them simple and bigger written words. Besides, I will have a time limit and I will stick the words in their body. Therefore, they would find it interesting to move around and find their partner to arrange the sentence. Through this the use of English Language can be increased and the pupils will feel good.

so that the students do not have to memorize all the rules and regulations. I should print bigger alphabetical words so that it will be easier for the students to solve the sentence. The possible effects can be seen when the students feel easier to play and solve the game. The possible topic in this lesson is Language Effect. The language and thinking skills that I have learnt here is Phrasal Verb. I also learnt to think fats to arrange the sentence without any grammatical error. The specific skills learned here according to the syllabus are reading the sentence with the correct pronunciations. Apart from that, looking for grammatical error and sentence construction is also a part of the skill.
