PROPOSAL I

A Proposed Restoration of El Hogar Filipino in Binondo Manila into a boutique-hotel. Boutique hotel is a term popularized in North America and the United Kingdom to describe hotels which often contain luxury facilities of varying size in unique or intimate settings with full service accommodations. Sometimes known as "design hotels" or "lifestyle hotels", boutique hotels began appearing in the 1980s in major cities like London, New York, and San Francisco. Typically boutique hotels are furnished in a themed, stylish and/or aspirational manner. Boutique hotels are often individual and focused on offering their services in a comfortable, intimate, and welcoming setting, so they are therefore extremely unlikely to be found amongst the homogeneity of large hotel. El Hogar Filipino in binondo was once a lively trade and commerce centre of manila, but today it sits there waiting for a wrecking ball. Its a loss to our heritage if that happens specially if theres a way to restore and use it again. This proposal aims to restore El Hogar into if not for commerce but for tourism purposes. This proposal if successful can make way for this part of Binondo to be alive again as a tourist destination. What will be the effect of transforming El Hogar Filipino into a boutique-hotel to the nearby areas? Why choose El Hogar Filipino as the site for the proposal?

What is the impact of the proposal to the community? To the environment?

Where does the fund for the restoration of El Hogar from?

What is the target market of the proposal?

PROPOSAL II

A proposed development of the Dingalan Bay Seaboard, or the Port City in Dingalan, Aurora The Port of Manila serves as the only international gateway to the Philippines. Since 1987, traffic growth in the Port of Manila has been uncomfortably high. To address this concern, Phase I and Phase II of the Batangas Port Development Project was developed. But even so, the rapidly expanding Calabarzon (Cavite Laguna- Batangas- Rizal- Quezon) has already taken up much of the ports capacity. Because of its good location, the Dingalan port will spur the development of Nueva Ecija and Tarlac. Major roads, such as the Cabatuan- Palayan-Dingalan highway, will link Dingalan to most areas in the site. Moreover, vessels from northeast Asia going to Australia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea can pass the Philippines without calling at Manila. Shipment of goods to and from the United States and Canada can likewise be facilitated if a strategic alliance can be developed with one or two North American ports.

What will be the effect of a port city to the environment?

Why build a port in Dingalan, Aurora?

What is the significance of the proposal to the Community? Whos the Target market of the Proposal?
