ProgramOverview The Summer Night Lights (SNL) program is an essential component of the comprehensive citywide gang reduction strategy facilitated by the Los Angeles Mayors Office of Gang Reduction and Youth Development (GRYD). SNL provides extended late night programming betweenthehoursof7p.m.tomidnight,4daysaweek,throughoutthesummermonths.SNL deliversacoordinatedefforttodecreasethepropensityforviolencewithincommunitiesthat aremostimpacted.SNLprovidesfreeextracurricularprogrammingfortheentirecommunity including;sports,food,andarts&crafts.Theprogramengagesallstakeholdersespeciallythose whoarepotentialvictimsandpotentialperpetratorsofviolence.SNLskeypartnersincludethe Citys Department of Recreation and Parks (RAP) and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). PreferredQualifications Previous work experience with SNL and/or have completed their Bachelors Degree or Degreeinhumanservicesrelatedfieldand/oraminimumoftwoyearsofprofessional work experience in a related position. Flexible Fulltime availability from June to September; MustbeavailabletoworktheprogramhoursofTuesdays9a.m.to5p.m.and WednesdaythroughSaturday3:30p.m.12:00a.m. Strong leadership, management, communication, organizational, administrative and timemanagementskills; Experienceinprovidingdirectsupervisiontoyouth/youngadults. Ability to work with diverse populations, problem solve, and work in a collaborative manner; Abilitytobeflexibleandmanagehighstresssituationsinacalmandeffectivemanner. Abilitytoworkaspartofateamthatincludesyouth,citydepartments,community organizations,communitypeacemakers,andlawenforcement. WorkingknowledgeofMicrosoftOfficeanddailyaccesstopersonalemailaccount.

PrimaryDuties&Responsibilities Provide shared oversight of the SNL program site service delivery including but not limitedto; Ensure SNL site programming is delivered nightly in a timely, effective and productive manner Provide extensive community outreach to stakeholders on the various programs and servicesofferedduringSNL AttendandparticipatefullyinallSNLprogrammeetingsandplanningsessions. Lead in the management of the 11 Youth Squad, including modeling appropriate behaviorandprofessionalism. OverseeYSduringprogrammingtoensuretheyarecompletingassignedtasks ImplementtheYouthSquadDevelopmentCurriculumonadailybasistoYouthSquad memberspriortonightlyprogramming. Performadditionaldutiesasneededtoensurethesuccessfuldeliveryofprogramand servicesatdesignatedSNLsite
