ost of the questions we ask concerning life will not be clearly defined in God's Word. For example, there is not a Scripture advising one to marry a certain person on a certain date. However, there are guidelines about marriage and other life events that are perfectly outlined in God's Word. It is up to us to take the time to pray and ask God to reveal them to us.

THE QUEST FOR ANSWERS

Prayer not only helps us discover the will of God for our lives, it also deepens our relationship with the Savior. Through prayer, we discover the depths of God's mercy and love for us. It is also where we confess our sin and receive His forgiveness. Prayer is an opportunity for us to communicate with the Lord of heaven and earth. In prayer, we ask God to do what only He can do. Jesus gave us a pattern to follow in prayer when He prayed what we now know as the Lord's Prayer recorded in Matthew 6. Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth As it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, As we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.

Some who read these words have never thought about the fact that God has a plan and a purpose for their lives and that plan is one of hope and future opportunity (Jeremiah 29:11). Prayer provides the right opportunity for God's promises to be embedded in our hearts and minds. And if we trust the Lord for our future, He will provide the strength we need to face life's challenges victoriously. Joseph spent years confined to an Egyptian dungeon. While he had done nothing to deserve imprisonment, God knew that Joseph's faith needed to be tested. The fulfillment of God's promises would come, but first he had to walk hand-in-hand with the Lord through faith and prayer. Joseph did not avoid personal surrender. He knew that if he did, he would risk missing God's will and purpose for his life.

LEARN TO SUBMIT YOUR WILL TO GOD

If God has allowed you to settle in a difficult place pray. But don't just pray for a way of escape. Instead, pray for the Lord to work His good pleasure into your life. If there is a need for discipline, be willing to receive it so that you will experience the blessings of God. Trying to manipulate the Lord's will through prayer never works. Instead of solving the problem, this can lead to frustration. Therefore, we need to be willing to trust God and wait for His answer.

HE HAS A GREATER PLAN

"If you truly want to know the will of God, begin with prayer. If you want to experience a sense of peace and joy that goes beyond anything this world has to offer, take time to pray." There will be times when we think we cannot face another trial or another minute of persecution. Jesus understands our weaknesses. The night of His arrest He prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done" (Matthew 26:42). Earlier, He had taught His disciples to pray, "Thy will be done," so they would know how to submit their wills to God just as He had submitted His. God knows the hurts, the disappointments, and the frustrations you are facing, but He longs to hear you pray what Christ prayed in the garden the night of His arrest, "Not my will, Father, but yours." Is this the prayer of your heart? Can you pray "Lord, it seems that my entire life is turning out differently than what I thought it would. I am frustrated and angry. However, I want to surrender my life to You. Please change the focus of my heart so that it is set on You and not on my selfish desires. Heal the brokenness within my heart and make my deepest prayer to be, 'Not my will, but Your will be done in my life.'" If you truly want to know the will of God, begin with prayer. If you want to experience a sense of peace and joy that goes beyond anything this world has to offer, take time to pray. Through prayer, you will not only gain wisdom to make the right choice, you will deepen your relationship with the Savior the greatest gift of all.

The name Adonai is translated Lord in the Bible. Adon means, steward administrator, master, or Lord. The addition of ai to adon intensifies or elevates its meaning, changing it to mean the ultimate Lord, the Supreme Lord, or Lord of all.

he overwhelming pressure from a world that has lost its sense of morality, where evil is proclaimed by the news media as acceptable social norms, and moral depravities and perversions are trumpeted as normal and decent value systems/civil rights, has brought many in the Church of Jesus Christ to their knees in compromise. Those who dare to be different are lampooned and incessantly referred to as bigots and extremists, whereas those who exhibit signs of abnormality and moral insanity are hailed and encouraged by the secular humanists and liberals of our times to impose their insanity on the rest of the society. The pressure to compromise has become so intense, that many in the pulpit and pew have succumbed to it. To some, singing the tune of the world, social acceptance, and diluting scriptural admonishing that exalts godliness to earn a minute of fame on cable news and before man is more fulfilling, rewarding and important than defending and standing on biblical principles that espouse the uniqueness and exclusiveness of living for Christ Jesus.

(Romans 1:16; John 14:6; 2 Corinthians 5:17; 6:14-18)

Does political correctness and social acceptance carry more weight than obeying the Word of God? What would some of the modern-day jokers and charlatans in the Church who are quick to defend the scripturally indefensible with scriptural distortions say if they had been in the shoes of the Apostles; when they were brought before the Council that had arrogated to itself the right to determine the spiritual destiny of the nation of Israel (Acts 4:5-21: 5:17-42)? If in our contemporary world, protected by human rights, animal rights, tree rights, and all sorts of crazy rights; we are easily worn out and broken by ordinary men on foot to throw in the towel, as they ridicule righteous standards on prime time news through liberal pressure groups; then how are we going to contend with horses? And if in the land of peace wherein we have put our trust, men of flesh and blood can frighten us to compromise holy standards, and make us refrain from declaring that Jesus is the only way to salvation and true divine worship; what will we do at the swelling of the Jordan, when the strong tides of real persecution come at us (Jeremiah 12: 5)?

What happened to the Church of God, the foundation and growth of which were facilitated by the blood of a Man (Jesus) who dared to be different, and the blood of those who refused to be cowed into submission by the murderous intents and actions of the then worlds political and ecclesiastical systems? What happened to the Church that was called to be a chosen generation; a royal priesthood; a holy nation; a PECULIAR PEOPLE; to show forth the praises of Him who has called us out of DARKNESS into His marvelous light? What happened to the Salt of the Earth identity of the Church of Jesus Christ; a Church called to be the Light of the World; a City on a Hill; and a Light that shines in darkness (1 Peter 2:9; Matthew 5:13-16?

The good news, however, is that, the scriptures say clearly that in the midst of it all, the people that know their God shall be strong, do exploits, and stand true to Godliness and the message of the Cross; even in the face of death (Daniel 11:32-33). God almighty will always have His Daniel Team (Daniel 3 & 6); and those who refuse to bow their knees to Baal (I Kings 19:1418) in the midst of the chaos. The question we all need to answer is which team we are on. Are you on the team that dares to be different as Daniel chose to do, when he purposed not to defile himself with that which was corrupted, or the team that loved the praise of men more than divine approval during Jesus earthly ministry (1KINGS 19:14-18; Daniel 1:5-8; John 12:4243)? here is unrest in Syria, Afghanistan, Greece, Egypt, and all over the world. Gasoline price has skyrocketed; many people are unemployed; the rich and famous are dying of drug, alcohol, depression, etc; marriages are experiencing had times, many people are experiencing various health problems; secularism, carnality and all kinds of perversion have become rampart all over the world; rumors of war are echoed each day on the news and people are generally living in fear. People worry and do not know the way out. But I come to tell you today that God can rescue His own. God does rescue His own; God will rescue His own.

Hebrews children. Yes, this world is full of troubles but God o en rescue His own from them all. Do you belong to God? You must belong to Him, you must fear Him. Let us recall the story of the Israelites: how God rescued them from the hands of Pharaoh. He said, Let My people go God is concerned about those who belong to Him. Apart from all the miracles God showed in Egypt by plagues, He also went with His people into the wilderness; everyone with their families and belongings. ey le Egypt with rejoicing. Along the way He gave them the pillar of cloud by day and of re by night; so they were never in darkness. He gave light in front of His people but gave darkness behind them so their enemies would not see them (Exod. 13:17-22). Mind you, because the devil never gives up, Pharaoh still followed them with his chariots. All the joy of freedom became destroyed by the pursuit of the Egyptian king. is was the moment when sorrow mixed itself with sorrow. Many of us, just when we think we are out of one problem, another one crips up; but I assure you, if you become God's people, He will rescue you. By God's wonderful might, He made those enemies perish in the sea (Exod. 14:5-30). Do you now see that if God would rescue you, you must become His man or woman? He is a Mighty Man in ba le. How can you become a man or woman of God? By accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior; then this Jesus will give you the grace to reverence (fear) and acknowledge God in all your ways. "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole ma er: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." Eccl. 12:13 - Remember, if God will rescue you, you must become one of His own.

God bless my father, Apostle T.O. Obadare; he once taught in one of his sermons that we should all admit that there are tribulations in this earth already and we are all very much a part of it. People of all ages, race, sex and creed are going through dierent issues, but the only way we can come out of our problems is if we become the people of God. He cited the story of the Hebrew midwives who feared God and refused to kill the Hebrew infant boys (as instructed by pharaoh). God in turn protected them from the wrath of Pharaoh and blessed them with their own places of abode (Exod. 1:17, 21). If God will rescue us, we must become Gods people. If we fear God, we will become the people of God, and if so, God will make way and ght for us to bring us out of lifes troubles. Are you a man or woman of God? God knows His own and His own knows Him according to what Jesus said in John 10:14. If you belong to God, somebody will have compassion on you, as Pharaoh's daughter had compassion on baby Moses. Exod. 2:6 says, "And when she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So she had compassion on him, and said, is is one of the

I want to ask you a question: Do you love yourself? ake a minute to think about it. Its an important question because your answer will determine how much love you are able to give to others. You see, if you dont love yourself in a healthy, balanced way, then you wont be able to spread the love of God to those around you because you cant give away something you dont have to begin with. Now, Im not talking about a sel sh, self-centered kind of love for yourself that is arrogant and pued up. at is not what Im saying. ere is a balanced way to develop a godly appreciation for who you are and the abilities God has given you. I talk about this a lot because I think one of the biggest problems we have today is how we feel about ourselves. It seems many people have a broken record playing in their head that keeps repeating, Whats wrong with me? Whats wrong with me? Whats wrong with me? One reason for this is we compare ourselves to other people and wonder why we cant look or act like they do. Or we believe that God is mad at us for some reasonand then fall into the trap of thinking we need to try harder to measure up.

Get Completely in Gods Will

As soon as you accept Christ, His love is poured into your heart. In fact, He loved you before you ever accepted Him as your Savior. I really want you to get this because the fact that God loves you is one of the most important truths you need to know. Loving God and then yourself in a healthy, balanced way is the rst step toward ful lling your destiny and becoming a vessel of Gods love so you can spread His love to others. Its also the key to having everything Jesus died for you to have, like His righteousness, peace and joy. I love what Romans 14:17 (AMP) says, [A er all] the kingdom of God is not a ma er of [ge ing the] food and drink [one likes], but instead it is righteousness (that state which makes a person acceptable to God) and [heart] peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. at verse says the kingdom of God is not food or drink. I like to say that God is not about stu. And He wants to give us something much more importantrighteousness, peace and joy.

Dont Be Misled
e devil wants us to feel bad about ourselves. He tries to mess with our thinking so we are always wondering why something is wrong with us. And many times we make the mistake of ge ing mad at ourselves because of it. But Gods Word says that those who are in Christ have been made righteous. Second Corinthians 5:21 (AMP) says, For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might becomethe righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness]. I like the Ampli ed version of this verse because it helps us understand the meaning of righteousness. As the verse

Are You Living in Gods Kingdom?

How much joy do you have? Its pre y much impossible to have joy if you dont know God loves you as you are and have peace with yourself. If you lack joy, maybe its because of the way you see yourself. And some folks are angry with themselves, so they avoid their own presence. ll never forget the young couple I counseled several years ago. ey were on the verge of spli ing up, and sex was the crux of their problems.

e young wife was put out by her husband's regular need for sex. I asked him about it, and heard a normal young man expressing his desire for sex with his wife along with the rejection and shame he felt from her every time she refused it.

Women may also have less fear of pregnancy and/or greater acceptance of their sexuality as they grow older. ese factors can

Men and women both have intense needs, but these needs can be dierent from one another. Regardless, these needs are an inherent part of us. When you reject your husband's sexual needs, you are also rejecting him. When you reject your wife's sexual needs, you are rejecting her. Sex is a deep need. When it is misunderstood and rejected, serious problems and sexual frustration can result. But when it is understood and accepted, sex results in goodwill and intimacy. One thing every human being has to both believe and accept is that, the ful llment of whatever we are here in this world to accomplish is connected to another human being. ere's no way any person can accomplish his/her life's objective alone. Even nations must understand the concept of inter-relationship, inter-dependence and inter-connectedness to determine their power, in uence and achievements. Obviously there will be dierences in size, wealth, strength, progress and privileges, but it is such dierences that make them need one another the more. Recent negative and unprogressive developments in the Middle East are aecting nations around the world. God created nations to be one family to project Him and His Love. Have you ever pondered why the Apostle Paul took an entire chapter of the Bible to discuss the supremacy of love? In the early church, leaders modeled love to their churches. In turn, the churches modeled it to the rest of the world. ey lived by the watchwords in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. Love was the foundation and motive for leaders' actions. ey were rst, love-slaves and served the people. While indeed leaders possessed great gi s, their gi s took second place to serving others out of love. Consider how the early church leaders lived out this passage: 1. Timothy and Erastus served the church and Paul

Of the people you know, who seems to enjoy life the most? Is it the negative, suspicious and antisocial? I DON'T THINK SO AT ALL! e scrooges (mean or miserly) of life don't enjoy much of anything; things that range from the spiritual to the physical/material. Jesus summed life up like this "Love the Lord.....with all your heart....Love your neighbor as yourself. On the other hand, people who love God and love people, live joyfully. If you love God and people, you'll nd friends wherever you go. And you'll get farther in life too. It's people who would have to prove your worthiness in life. It's people who have to buy what you sell to keep you in business. It's people who have to patronize your medical practice to authenticate your career as a medical doctor. It's people who have to prove the legitimacy of your presidency. It's people who have to prove your ministry. Whatever is the position/ role of a person or a nation in this world of ours, it's for the sake of people, and for that ma er it will require people to determine its worthiness, success or failure. Walkers
God's heart breaks at the sight of men and women lost in time, on their own paths spiraling down into the pits of compromise and self-absorption and degradation. He's created them for fellowship with the Most High, and all they can do is oer explanations and excuses for their deaf ears and numbed feet and self-willed souls. God is grieved. And in his heartbreak he turns to someone who "walks" with him -- Noah, a man who is circumspect in the way he lives, in spite of the moral cesspool around him. God nds pleasure in this walker who listens when He speaks, who turns when God's direction changes, who obeys when he hears a new word. God is pleased. On our walk with God, he asks of us some big things, too. ings undreamed of. ings impossible. ings uncomfortable. ings which stretch us to the limit. Some drop out at this point. Some don't continue the journey. Jesus u ers a hard saying and many of his band of walkers desert wholesale. "Will you also go away?" he asks his closest followers. "Will you leave, as well?" (John 6:66-67) He asks this question of you, too. Will you continue to follow? Will you remain faithful to walk with God? Will you be one of those rare individuals who gladdens the heart of God? Who brings pleasure to a heartbroken Father? I want to be one of those, and I think you do, too. ere's no higher honor we can aspire to than for people to say about us what is recorded about Noah of old: "He walked with God."

he momma duck struts across the lawn and into a pond. Right behind her follow eight tiny ducklings. Plunk, plunk, plunk. Into the water they follow, and lo, they swim in a li le row behind her. What makes this scene so charming is its rarity. So few other animals do it. Humans don't.

Early on, in the very rst book in the Bible, we read: " e Lord saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. e Lord was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was lled with pain.... But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God." (Genesis 6:5-6, 89) Walking with God is just as rare in our generation. Religion isn't rare. Spirituality is popular these days. But walking with God is uncommon. Yet this walking is precisely what dierentiates real Christians from their plastic toy-store counterparts. Walking along the stony beach of Galilee, Jesus sees some shermen. "Follow me," he says, "follow me." ey leave the shing nets with their astonished father and followed him (Ma . 4:19-20). He sees a tax collector, si ing in his oce. "Follow me," he says, and Ma hew pushes back his chair, hangs a "closed" sign in the window, and follows (Ma hew 9:9). Walking with God can't wait until a commercial break or a convenient point in our lives. It is now (Luke 9:59-60; Mark 8:34).

Migraines May Raise Depression Risk in Women

iddle-aged women are roughly 40% more likely to become depressed if they experience migraine headaches, new research suggests.

Whats more, their risk of depression appears to stay elevated even if the pain stops. Women whose migraines had not troubled them within the past year were just as likely to become depressed as women who were still enduring the sometimes crippling headaches, the study found. For women at least, migraine is a risk factor for depression, says lead author Tobias Kurth, M.D., an epidemiologist at Brigham and Womens Hospital, in Boston. But theres no good biological reason why the link would not apply to men. Kurth and his colleagues drew their data from the Womens Health Study, an ongoing survey of female health professionals that began in 1993. They examined the medical records of more than 36,000 women who had no history of depression at the start of the study. Roughly 18% of the women were experiencing some form of migraine or had suffered from the headaches in the past. Over the next 14 years, 11% of the study participants received a depression diagnosis. Compared to women with no history of migraine, those who had ever had one were 36% more likely to become depressed. Women who used to get the headaches but were migraine-free in the year leading up to the study were 41% more likely to be diagnosed. After taking into account the womens age, smoking and drinking habits, and other extenuating factors, the researchers found that the type of migraine did not influence depression risk. Women whose headaches were preceded by flashing lights and other sensory disturbancesa condition called migraine with aura, which occurs in 25% of migraine caseshad the same risk of

depression as women with the more common form of migraine. Kurth is scheduled to present his findings at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Neurology in April. Neurologists and primary care physicians both should be aware of the relationship between depression and migraine, he says. If you know a patient may be more susceptible to symptoms of depression, you might ask questions, Kurth says. You might follow them not just for their headaches, but be thinking about the link to depression so you can address symptoms early on.
