USCG Sector Mobile Geographic Response Plan (GRP) Workshop

Overview: Under the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 it is each Sectors Area Committee duty to have a written Area Contingency Plan and in part develop a Geographic Response Plan detailing all response information necessary to respond to an oil/hazardous material spill and further have a strategy in place to protect all environmental and socio-economic resources at risk. Objective: The Sector Mobile Area Committee and additional stakeholders will review and update the GRP information regarding the environmental sensitive areas, stakeholder contact information, socio-economic resources at risk and the tactical oil spill response strategies. Stakeholders attending this workshop will be considered the ambassadors to all communities/managed lands/natural resources they represent; i.e. county representatives should coordinate with underlying municipalities for their comments on GRP maps. Please bring any additional reference material including, but not limited to a laptop/tablet computer, maps, atlases, contact information, website references, habitat/species data, equipment inventory lists and boat ramp info.
