1.8

CONCOURSE WCS, ABLUTIONS, BIN STORE, ROYAL BOX SMOKING ROOM EXTRACT VENTILATION Extract ventilation systems will serve WC areas, Ablutions, Bin stores, Royal Box Smoking Rooms and cleaners closets in the public concourses. The system will consist of packaged duty/standby extract fan units, motorised isolation dampers and attenuators. Air will be extracted from each area via high level extract grilles which connect to a common ductwork system which rises within the core areas to the fans. Exhaust air is discharged to dedicated roof exhaust points. Each extract system provides a minimum of 6 air changes per hour. Air is made up from the adjacent concourses. The system will operate via a fixed timed schedule.

1.9

SERVICE ROAD VENTILATION The service road at Level 1 will be ventilated to remove vehicle fumes and control carbon monoxide (CO) levels. The system comprises of 4 variable speed extract fans arranged in two pairs, high level extract ductwork, and grilles exhaust ductwork discharging air through two exhaust terminals at level 2. High velocity induction fans are provided to move air and entrained fumes towards the extract fans The extract fans will be located towards the centre of the service road, each pair of fans will connect to a common exhaust duct which will then connect to the exhaust outlets at Level 2. The induction fans will be arranged to ensure air and fumes are directed towards the extract fans and avoid the requirement for extensive ventilation ductwork within the service road. Replacement air will be drawn through the service road entrances from outside and from the stadium bowl (via the pitch access portals). The ventilation system will provide 3-6 air changes per hour of ventilation, the variable speed fans will be controlled by CO sensors to ensure removal of vehicle fumes and maintain the required CO levels.

1.10

FIRST AID ROOMS, TR, LS, LSS, LIFT CONTROL ROOMS AND BIN STORES Each room will be provided with cooling only. The cooling system will be a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system with internal wall mounted/ ceiling suspended room fan coil units connected via refrigerant pipework to a common external condenser unit. The wall mounted indoor fan coil unit will re-circulate air within the room to maintain the required room temperature. A temperature controller will be provided within each room.

Bin stores are provided with extract ventilation, other spaces provided with minimum outside air from either AHUs or by local room fans where these rooms are remote.

1.11

STADIUM SCREENS The multi level screen equipment enclosures at the rear of the screens will be provided with cooling via multiple cooling units. The cooling system will be a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system with internal wall mounted fan coil units connected via refrigerant pipework to a common external condenser unit. The wall mounted indoor fan coil unit which will re-circulate air within the enclosure to maintain the required space temperature. Temperature controllers will be provided for each cooling unit.

1.12

TV STUDIOS The cooling system will be a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system with multiple ceiling mounted 4 way cassette units connected via refrigerant pipework to a common external condenser unit. The cassette units will re-circulate air within the studio to maintain the required space temperature. A common temperature controller will be provided. Minimum outside air will be provided from AHU 13.

1.13

EVENT CONTROL ROOM The cooling system will be a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system with multiple ceiling mounted 4 way cassette units connected via refrigerant pipework to a common external condenser unit. The cassette units will re-circulate air within the control room to maintain the required space temperature. A common temperature controller will be provided. Minimum outside air will be provided by from AHU 14.

1.14

ELECTRICAL ROOMS The cooling system will be a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system with a single ceiling mounted 4 way cassette unit connected via refrigerant pipework to a common external condenser unit. The cassette unit will re-circulate air within the room to maintain the required room temperature. A temperature controller will be provided within each room.

Minimum outside air will be provided either by AHUs or by local room fans where these are remote.

1.15

PA/VA ROOMS Rooms will be provided with DX type slimline floor mounted units to suit the room/equipment loads, no additional system integrity will be provided. The floor mounted units will re-circulate air within the room to maintain the required room temperature. A temperature controller will be provided within each room. Minimum outside air will be provided by local room fans

1.16

MAIN COMMUNICATIONS ROOMS (TER 1 & 2, MOER & TIR 1, TIR2, RER1 & 2) Each room will be provided with cooling and humidity control. The equipment will be provided on an N+1 basis to provide the required resilience for the communications systems. Within each room the system will consist of two Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units (N+1) which will re-circulate air within the room to maintain the required room temperature and humidity. Temperature controllers will be provided within each room. Duplicate cooling systems will be provided within each CRAC unit comprising chilled water coil and a DX cooling coil system connected via refrigerant pipework to dedicated external condenser units. The chilled water coils will be utilised during normal operation on power failure or loss of chilled water supply the units will switch to DX cooling. Proposed equipment rack arrangements for these rooms are provided with hot aisle containment. Warm air from the back of the racks will be ducted from the hot aisle containment back to the CRAC units at high level within the space. No floor voids are provided within these rooms, so air supply from the CRACs will be directly into the space. Consideration should be given to the use of in-line CRAC units which can be located within the equipment rack rows. These type of units provide direct air supply to the front of the racks. Electric humidifiers will be provided within the CRAC units to maintain the required humidity levels within the space. Minimum outside air ventilation will be provided via the main air handling plant serving level 2 accommodation.

1.17

CRITICAL TRs, TRs +PA/VA, Rooms will be provided with DX ceiling suspended room cooling units on an N+1 basis. Minimum outside air will be provided by AHUs or local room fans where these spaces are remote.

1.18

OB TR, ERES, EMES Rooms will be provided with DX fed slimline floor mounted units to suit the room/equipment loads, no additional system integrity will be provided. Minimum outside air will be provided by local room fans.

1.19

CB/UPS, CENTRAL BATTERY ROOMS Rooms will be provided with DX ceiling suspended room cooling units on an N+1 basis. Minimum outside air will be provided by AHUs serving level 2 accommodation. Continuous extract will be provided by local packaged duty/standby extract fans.

1.20

COOLING SYSTEM Air cooled chillers will be provided to serve the Main Stadium, the Mosque and the Sports Hall & Athletics Stadium (SHAS). The chillers will be located in the central chiller compound located to the north west of the Main Stadium in the car parking area. The compound will accommodate the pump room containing primary and secondary circulation pumps, pressurisation and expansion vessels, control panels and all other associated equipment/devices. The chiller compound will be provided with screening to the top and sides to provide visual and acoustic screening as well as solar shading. The screening will allow free air movement in and around the chillers. Five air cooled chillers will provide the peak cooling demand for the site, no additional resilience is provided on the basis that the simultaneous peak demand at each facility is not anticipated so the system will have inbuilt resilience in the event of one chiller being out of operation. The chillers will be screw type compressors with multiple circuits within each machine. The chillers will utilise R134A refrigerant. The high efficiency air cooled chillers will provide chilled water with flow and return temperatures of 7oC/15oC for an 8/14C flow and return temperature at cooling coils. Constant volume primary pumps will circulate water through the five chillers and the low loss primary header. Secondary circuit pumps circulate water through two circuits, one serving the Main Stadium and Mosque and the other serving the SHAS. Variable speed pumps will be utilised to allow the chilled water flow rate to be varied according to demand. Water flow rate is controlled by a combination of two port modulating control valves, differential pressure control valves, sensors and commissioning valves. Variable speed pumps will be inverter driven. Pressure differential control valves will be provided to all AHU branch connections to maintain control valve authority. The primary pumps will comprise of two duty and one standby pump. The secondary pumps will comprise of two pumps, duty and standby. All pumps will be the single head type. Under a mains power failure the BMS will close 2 port control valves for the following AHUs: AHUs 1,5,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14. Under this scenario the remaining AHUs will operate as normal and will have generator backed MCCs to continue to provide cooling to event critical areas.

A combined system pressurization and pressure step control de-aeration unit will maintain system pressure and assist the removal of air from the system. The unit will incorporate expansion vessels to accommodate water expansion within the system. All chilled water pipework systems will be thermally insulated and provided with vapour barriers. Chilled water will distributed from the externally located chillers to each building via pre-insulated pipework buried directly in the ground. Within each building the chilled water pipework will be distributed vertically within services risers and horizontally within services distribution space at high level on each floor. Cooling coils are sized to allow operation of AHUs in the event of failure of heat recovery devices, but will be commissioned for normal duty based on cooling load summary. In the event of heat recovery failure the AHU coil can receive an increased chilled water flow rate in an emergency situation to allow performance to be maintained until repairs/replacement can be made. 1.21 AHU SETBACK During unoccupied periods the BMS will provide set-back cooling to maintain spaces to a maximum temperature of [28C]. Space temperature sensors will be used to determine the requirement for setback cooing during unoccupied periods.
PART 2 - SPORTS HALL AND ATHLETICS STADIUM

2.1

CONSTANT AIR VOLUME (CAV) SPACES (AHU-MPS-01, AHU-MPS-02, AHU-MPS03) Air handling units and areas served are identified in the schedule below

Air handling units serving constant air volume spaces will consist of outside air intake and exhaust connections with motorised isolation dampers, panel and bag filter sections, energy recovery thermal wheel or cross-flow heat exchanger, cooling coil, variable speed supply and extract fans and attenuators. From the air handling unit supply and extract ductwork will be connected to each room served by the system. Supply air will be ducted from the ceiling void mounted CAV boxes to ceiling supply diffusers. Extract air will be ducted to the CAV boxes via ceiling extract grilles/ shadow gap or ceiling plenums.

A constant air volume will be supplied to each room; the variable speed drive on each fan motor will be used to set the initial system air flow-rate during commissioning. The air handling unit will be controlled to deliver air at a constant temperature [15oC]. The control system will increase the supply air temperature as necessary to maintain the required room temperature (within each system a room will be designated as the temperature controlled space) and avoid overcooling of the space. The thermal wheel will be utilised to recovery energy from the exhaust air which will then be utilised to pre cool the incoming outside air which will reduce the cooling coil load and chilled water demand. Supply and extract ductwork will be insulated to minimise energy losses.

2.2

VARIABLE AIR VOLUME (VAV) SPACES (AHU-MPS-01, AHU-MPS-02, AHU-MPS03, AHU-MPS-04, AHU-MPS-05) Air handling units and areas served are identified in the schedule below

Extract air will be ducted/returned to the VAV boxes via ceiling extract grilles, shadow gap or ceiling plenums. VAV spaces will contain a CO2 sensor within the return air duct. This will be used to control the outside air volume by modulation of the dampers within the AHU mixing section to suit the occupancy of the room served. All systems will operate on full recirculation outside occupied hours to maintain the required space temperatures for fabric protection Supply and extract ductwork will be insulated to minimise energy losses.

2.3

MULTI PURPOSE SPORTS HALL, INTERNAL CONCOURSE, SPORTS HALL CIRCULATION The Multi Purpose Sports Hall (MPS), Internal Concourse and Sports Hall Circulation will be controlled using a VAV strategy via AHUs AHU-MPS-04 and AHU-MPS-05. The MPS is designated as an event critical space. All ventilation, cooling and BMS equipment and controls serving event critical spaces will be provided with generator backed power supplies. The AHUs serving the MPS, Internal Concourse and Sports Hall Circulation will operate in 1 of 4 modes: Match mode, Badminton mode Break mode & AHU Setback. The Multi-Purpose Sports hall will be provided cool air via jet diffusers and linear whirl diffusers located at high level, in the ceiling void around the perimeter of the Hall. These will condition the audience zone and field of play. The audience zone will be served via jet and whirl diffusers terminating on the bulkhead inbetween column locations. Ductwork to the diffusers will distribute in the ceiling void above the internal concourse and hall circulation. The jet diffusers located between 2 adjacent columns will be grouped into diffuser banks that are fed via a single separate duct branch. Whirl diffusers also located between 2 adjacent columns will be grouped into diffuser banks that are fed via a single separate duct branch. The duct branches feeding the diffuser banks will contain a motorised damper to enable the modulation and isolation of air provided to that bank by the BMS. Jet diffusers are located at high level on the bulk head elevation and serve the audience far away from the diffuser location. Linear whirl diffusers are located at low-level on the bulkhead elevation and serve the audience close to the diffuser location. Jet diffusers serving the field of play will be served via on a single ductwork branch containing a motorised controlled damper. This will be provided to enable the isolation of field of play ventilation during badminton matches. Swirl diffusers are provided in the ceiling voids above the Internal Concourse and Sport Hall circulation to condition these areas. These diffusers will supply air through the open mesh grid ceiling. The grid ceiling is to be a minimum of 60% free area. The swirl diffusers will be grouped into banks serving specific zones. Diffuser banks will be fed via a single duct branch containing a motorised damper to enable the modulation and isolation of the air provided.

2.4

MATCH MODE During Match mode motorised control dampers contained within duct branches serving the internal concourse and Sports Hall Circulation will be set to minimum flow. Motorised control dampers contained within ductwork branches serving the MPS will modulate to maintain the required space temperature. The associated AHUs volume flow rate will modulate as required.

2.5

BADMINTON MODE During Badminton mode the motorised control dampers contained within ductwork branches serving the field of play jet nozzles will be isolated to maintain the design air velocity criteria. The remainder of the MPS ventilation system will operate as in Match.

2.6

BREAK MODE During Break mode motorised control dampers contained within ductwork branches serving the MPS will be set to minimum flow. Mortised control dampers contained within duct branches serving the internal concourse and Sports Hall Circulation will modulate to maintain the required space temperature. The associated AHUs volume flow rate will modulate as required.

2.7

AHU SETBACK The operation of AHU Setback mode is detailed below. The AHUs mode of operation will be controlled via the BMS system. An interface will be provided in the Event Control Room to enable manual switching between match and break modes during events.

2.8

FINISHING KITCHEN EXTRACT VENTILATION The extract system will consist of exhaust connection, motorised isolation damper, bifurcated variable speed axial duty/standby extract fans, attenuators, and fire rated ductwork connecting to the extract hood and finishing kitchen extract grilles. The air temperature within the kitchens will be ventilation controlled. Local control switches will be provided for operatives to start/stop the extract ventilation system to provide a fixed low volume extract rate to the general kitchen areas and a fixed high volume extract rate including the cooking extract hood. Supply make-up air will be provided via AHU-MPS-02. The supply air volume will automatically modulate to satisfy the supply-air condition for low and high volume extract rates.

2.9

SMALL WCS, BIN STORES AND BATTERY ROOM EXTRACT VENTILATION Extract ventilation systems will serve small WCs, Bin Stores and the Battery Room.

The systems will consist of packaged duty/standby extract fan units, motorised isolation dampers and attenuators. Air will be extracted from each area via high level via high level grilles, ceiling extract grilles, shadow gap or ceiling plenums . Exhaust air is ducted to dedicated discharge exhaust points. Small WC extract systems each provide a minimum of 35l/s per WC. The Battery Room extract system provides 1 air change per hour. The bin store extract systems provide 6 air changes per hour. For all systems make-up air is provided via adjacent spaces. The systems will operate via a fixed timed schedule. 2.10 EVENT PRESENTATION ROOM The Event Presentation Room is cooled using a VAV strategy via AHU-MPS-01. The room contains a TE cabinet. The TE cabinet is cooled via air from the room. The cabinet door will contain low level and high level grilles/openings in order to provide sufficient ventilation. The Event Presentation Room supply and extract ducts will connect to VAV boxes which will operate in conjunction with a room temperature sensor to control the volume of air supplied to the room to maintain design conditions.

2.11

PHOTO FINISH ROOM The Photo Finish Room is cooled using a VAV strategy via AHU-MPS-02. The room contains a TE cabinet and is designated as an event critical space. All ventilation, cooling and BMS equipment and controls serving event critical spaces will be provided with generator backed power supplies. The TE cabinet is cooled via air from the room. The cabinet door will contain low level and high level grilles/openings in order to provide sufficient ventilation. The Event Presentation Room supply and extract ducts will connect to VAV boxes which will operate in conjunction with a room temperature sensor to control the volume of air supplied to the room to maintain design conditions.

2.12

ON VENUE RESULTS, TECHNICAL VIDEO ROOM, MEDICAL CENTRE The On Venue Results, Technical Video Room and Medical Centre are cooled using a VAV strategy via AHU-MPS-02. These rooms are designated as event critical spaces. All ventilation, cooling and BMS equipment and controls serving event critical spaces will be provided with generator backed power supplies. The On Venue Results, Technical Video Room and Medical Centre will contain supply and extract ducts connected to VAV boxes which will operate in conjunction with a room temperature sensor to control the volume of air supplied to the room to maintain design conditions.

2.13

ELECTRICAL ROOMS L1 Electrical equipment room (e.g. LV switch rooms) and L2 electrical equipment rooms (e.g. lift motor rooms) will be conditioned via a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) cooling system. Spaces will contain wall/ceiling mounted fan coil units that are connected to external condenser units located on the roof level via refrigerant pipework. The room units will re-circulate air within the room to maintain the required temperature. A temperature controller will be provided within each room. Minimum outside air will be provided by associated AHUs. The LV safety, LV SR Critical and Battery Es rooms are designated as event critical spaces. All ventilation, cooling and BMS equipment and controls serving event critical spaces will be provided with generator backed power supplies.

2.14

RADIO EQUIPMENT ROOMS (RER) The RER will be conditioned via a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) cooling system. The room is designated as an event critical space. All ventilation, cooling and BMS equipment and controls serving event critical spaces will be provided with generator backed power supplies. The RER will contain floor standing Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) units with humidity control. The equipment will be provided on an N+1 basis to provide the required resilience for the communications systems. The room units will re-circulate air within the room to maintain the required temperature. A temperature controller will be provided within each room. CRAC units will be connected to external condenser units located on the roof level via refrigerant pipework. Minimum outside air will be provided by the associated AHU.

2.15

TR COMM The TR Comm rooms will be conditioned via a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) cooling system. These rooms will contain the building PA/VA racks and are designated as event critical spaces. All ventilation, cooling and BMS equipment and controls serving event critical spaces will be provided with generator backed power supplies. The equipment will be provided on an N+1 basis to provide the required resilience for the Event Critical systems. The rooms will contain wall/ceiling mounted fan coil units that are connected to external condenser units located on the roof level via refrigerant pipework. Minimum outside air will be provided by the associated AHUs.

2.16

TE CABINET ROOM The L1 TE cabinet room will be conditioned via a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) cooling system. The room will contain a wall mounted fan coil unit that is connected to external condenser units located on the roof level via refrigerant pipework.

The room will be naturally ventilated via low level and high level grilles on the room door/partition. 2.17 FOOD & BEVERAGE (F+B) SERVERY The F+B serveries on the L2 internal concourse will operate under an extract only ventilation strategy. Make up air will be provided via the Sports Hall. Extract ductwork will be installed ready for the F+B company to connect extract services to. The ductwork provided will be fire rated and allow for 20 air changes per hour. The remaining of the extract ventilation system will be installed by F+B Servery company, space will be provided for the installation of the extract system at high level in the space. Space will be provided for the installation of a DX cooling system for each F+B severy room. Space for condenser units will be provided at the North and South condenser locations at roof level. Space provisions will allow for 250W/m2 cooling capacity for each room. Space provisions for pipework distribution will be at high level in the room and adjacent plant room, to the condenser riser location. 2.18 AHU PLANT ROOMS The L1 and L2 AHU plant rooms operate under a CAV strategy. Minimum fresh air is provided to the rooms via the associated AHU. Temperature control will be provided by bleeding air from the exhaust ductwork. Room temperature sensors will be used to switch the AHU bleed on and off. A constant volume of air will be supplied to the room to maintain the design conditions. AHUs AHU-MPS-02, AHU-MPS-04 & AHU-MPS-05 serve event critical spaces. The AHU plant and associated plant rooms are designated as event critical. All ventilation, cooling and BMS equipment and controls serving event critical spaces will be provided with generator backed power supplies. 2.19 AHU SETBACK During unoccupied periods the BMS will provide set-back cooling to maintain spaces to a maximum temperature of [28C]. Space temperature sensors will be used to determine the requirement for setback cooing during unoccupied periods. 2.20 CHILLED WATER (CHW) PIPEWORK Chilled water will be provided to the Sports Hall and Athletics Stadium (MPS) from the main stadium Chiller Compound. The CHW pipework will be distributed below ground from the Chiller compound to the MPS chiller intake room. Here the pipework will rise to high level and distribute to the L1 & L2 AHU plant rooms. The MPS chilled water leg from the chiller compound will be provided with leak detection. 2.21 ATHLETICS STADIUM SCREEN The multi level screen equipment enclosure at the rear of the screen will be provided with cooling via multiple cooling units.

The cooling system will be a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system with internal ceiling mounted fan coil units connected via refrigerant pipework to a common external condenser unit. The units will re-circulate air within the enclosure to maintain the required space temperature. Temperature controllers will be provided for each cooling unit.

PART 3 - MOSQUE

3.1

VARIABLE AIR VOLUME (VAV) & CONSTANT AIR VOLUME (CAV) AIR HANDLING SYSTEM WITH MIXING SECTION Air Handling Units and areas served are identified in the schedule below

AHU-01

Prayer Hall and Back of House

VAV/CAV Air handling units shall consist of outside air intake and exhaust connections with motorised isolation dampers, recirculation section and motorised damper, panel and bag filter sections, Chilled Water cooling coil and associated valve and actuator, electric heater battery supply and extract fans and attenuators. The supply and extract fans shall be variable speed type supplied with inverter drives. From the air handling unit supply and extract ductwork will be connected to each room served by the system. The air handling unit will operate under the dictates of the BMS system to deliver air at a constant temperature [16C]. Within each room the supply and extract ducts will connect to VAV/CAV boxes which will operate in conjunction with a room temperature sensor to control the volume of air supplied to the room to maintain design conditions. Supply air will be ducted from the ceiling void mounted CAV/VAV boxes to ceiling supply diffusers. Extract air will be ducted/returned to the CAV/VAV boxes via ceiling extract grilles or shadow gaps. Spaces that are served by CAV boxes from AHU-01 include: Admin, LV Rooms, Battery Room, Telecomms Enclosure, Storage Rooms, Lobbies and Jan/Cleaning/Dry Store. Spaces that are served by VAV boxes from AHU-01 include: Prayer Hall and AHU Plantroom. CO2 sensors within the return air duct/space will be provided to control the outside air volume by modulation of the dampers within the mixing section to suit the occupancy of the room served. All systems will operate on full recirculation outside occupied hours to maintain the required space temperatures for fabric protection. Supply and extract ductwork will be insulated to minimise energy losses.

3.2

ABLUTIONS, LOBBIES AND WCS Transfer and Extract ventilation systems will serve Male and Female Ablutions and Lobbies and WC areas. The systems will consist of packaged duty/standby transfer/extract fan units, motorised isolation dampers and attenuators. Extract air is extracted from each WC and at strategic points in the Ablutions and Janitors Store via high level extract spigots which connect to a common ductwork system (one male, one female), which rises within the ceiling void to the fans. Exhaust air is discharged via exhaust louvers located at the external faade. Air is made up from the Prayer Hall return air. Transfer air is taken from the Prayer Hall return air plenum via a common ductwork system (one male, one female) at high level and connects to the transfer fans in the ceiling void and is distributed to high level supply air diffusers. The Janitors Store is provided with supply air from the central AHU. Lobby spaces are positively pressurised, WCs and Ablutions are negatively pressurised. The quantity of transfer air is determined so to offset the cooling loads in the spaces. Each extract system provides a minimum of 6 air changes per hour. The system will operate under the dictates of the BMS.

3.3

WASTE STORE, BATTERY ROOM AND STORAGE 1 (CONTAINING BATTERY CHARGING EQUIPMENT) The Waste Store and each room containing batteries will be provided with a dedicated extract system that will operate continuously. The systems will consist of packaged (run & standby) extract fan units and attenuators. Air will be extracted from each area via high level extract grilles which connect to a dedicated ductwork system which connects to the fans. Exhaust air is discharged via exhaust weather louvers located at the external faade c/w non-return dampers. Each extract system provides a minimum of 6 air changes per hour. These spaces are negatively pressurised. The systems will operate under the dictates of the BMS. For the Waste Store, air is made up from the adjacent WC area. Storage 1 is provided with minimum outside air from the central AHU, air is made up from the adjacent Lobby area. Battery Room cooling is provided by a constant volume of air from the central AHU.

3.4

PRAYER HALL FOYER Each Prayer Hall Foyer is provided with a door air curtain unit. The units are selected to minimise infiltration when the Prayer Hall is becoming occupied (i.e. when doors may be constantly open) and to fit the spatial dimensions. The air curtains are recirculation units only. The air curtains will operate on demand and under the dictates of the BMS.

3.5

COOLING SYSTEM Chilled Water will be provided via a branch from the Main Stadium Central Chiller Compound. The branch will be sized so that the pumps can accommodate the varying flow demand. A differential pressure control valve will be provided to the AHU branches to maintain control valve authority.

PART 4 - ANCILLARY BUILDINGS

4.1

FOUL WASTE PUMPING STATION AIR HANDLING SYSTEM Ventilation is provided to the Waste Pumping Station using a miniature Air Handling Unit mounted in the Office ceiling void. The Shower and WC spaces are negatively pressurised, as is the kitchen, while the corridor and Office are positively pressurised. This draws cool air from the office space and corridor into the WC and shower, providing some cooling, and contains the gases, odours and latent loads associated with the WC, Kitchen and shower, in their respective spaces. The Foul Waste Pumping Station miniature air handling unit will have outside air intake and exhaust connections, cross-flow plate heat exchanger, panel filter sections, DX cooling coil and variable speed supply and extract fans. Attenuation will be selected to meet the NR ratings specified on the room data sheet. Supply air will be ducted from the ceiling void mounted unit to ceiling supply diffusers. Extract air will be ducted to the unit via ceiling-mounted extract valves. Outside air intakes are to be provided with sand louvers and exhaust air points will have non-return dampers and standard weather louvers. The unit shall be capable of operating under several modes with selection of the operating mode to be determined by a local BMS outstation. The system shall provide run/fault signals to be monitored by the BMS outstation. Under heating mode or cooling mode, a constant air volume will be supplied to each room. The variable speed drive on each fan motor will be used to set the initial system air flowrate during commissioning. Under heating setback or cooling setback a minimum or trickle air volume will be supplied to the building. The air handling unit will deliver air at a constant temperature setpoint, to be selected by the BMS outstation, of [18C] under cooling mode, [uncontrolled] under heating mode, [22C] under cooling setback mode and [uncontrolled] under heating setback mode. Supply ductwork will be insulated to minimise energy losses and to prevent condensation. An estimate of the BMS Hardware Points (either Input {analogue/digital] and/or Output {analogue/digital} associated with this AHU is 14 Nr.

4.2

The system shall operate in one of a minimum of 4 no. modes (heating mode, cooling mode, heating setback, cooling setback), to be selected by a local BMS outstation. The unit shall provide run/fault signals to be monitored by the BMS outstation. Within the building refrigerant pipework will be distributed vertically within services cupboards and horizontally within the ceiling void at high level on each floor. Indoor units shall contain inverter-driven, variable speed fans, and shall be provided with a local space temperature sensor. Units shall be programmed to maintain a constant space temperature of [24C] in cooling mode, [uncontrolled] in heating mode, [30C] in cooling setback mode and [uncontrolled] in heating setback mode), to be selected by the BMS outstation. Indoor units shall be 4-way cassette type units, and shall be provided with a facia plate that is of a RAL colour that has been approved by the architect. Refer to BMS Reference Design Report for Main Stadium to determine required BMS hardware points for the VRF/DX cooling system described above.

The unit shall be capable of operating in a minimum of 2 modes (normal mode, setback mode), with selection of the operating mode to be determined by a local BMS outstation. The system shall provide run/fault signals to be monitored by the BMS outstation Under normal mode the unit will operate under the dictates of a proprietary CO2 monitoring sensor, to be located on the Office wall, at a height of between 3 and 6 feet. Under heating setback or cooling setback a minimum or trickle air volume will be supplied to the building. Supply ductwork will be insulated to minimise energy losses and to prevent condensation. An estimate of the BMS Hardware Points (either Input {analogue/digital] and/or Output {analogue/digital} associated with this AHU is 13Nr.

4.4

MAIN GATEHOUSE KITCHEN AND WC AIR HANDLING SYSTEM Ventilation is provided to the Main Gatehouse Kitchen using a miniature Air Handling Unit mounted in the Kitchen ceiling void. Additional WC ventilation is provided using a wallmounted WC extract fan. The Kitchen miniature air handling unit will have outside air intake and exhaust connections with cross-flow plate heat exchanger, panel filter sections and variable speed supply and extract fans. Attenuation will be selected to meet the NR ratings specified on the room data sheet. Outside air intakes are to be provided with sand louvers and exhaust air points will have non-return dampers and standard weather louvers. Supply air will be ducted from the ceiling void mounted air handling unit to the back of the 4-way VRF cassette unit that is mounted alongside it. Extract air will be ducted to the unit via (a) ceiling-mounted extract valve(s). The exhaust connection from the kitchen air handling unit will be ducted to a swirl diffuser mounted in the WC ceiling, maintaining the room at an intermediate temperature (i.e. between that of the kitchen and outside). The air handling unit shall be capable of operating in a minimum of 2 modes (normal mode and setback mode), with selection of the operating mode to be determined by a local BMS outstation. The system shall provide run/fault signals to be monitored by the BMS outstation. Under normal mode the unit will operate under the dictates of a proprietary CO2 monitoring sensor, to be located on the Kitchen wall, at a height of between 3 and 6 feet. Under setback mode a minimum or trickle air volume will be supplied to the building. The WC extract fan shall be operated by detection from a local PIR sensor, which will activate the local fan controller for a programmable time period of [10] minutes. Supply ductwork will be insulated to minimise energy losses and to prevent condensation. An estimate of the BMS Hardware Points (either Input {analogue/digital] and/or Output {analogue/digital} associated with this AHU is 13Nr.

4.5

MAIN GATEHOUSE COOLING SYSTEM A Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) cooling system will be provided to serve the main Gatehouse Office and Kitchen buildings. The heat rejection unit will be located behind the kitchen building, concealed from the main path of incoming visitors. The system shall operate in one of a minimum of 2 no. modes (normal mode and setback mode), to be selected by a local BMS outstation. The unit shall provide run/fault signals to be monitored by the BMS outstation. All refrigerant pipework will be thermally insulated and provided with vapour barriers. Within the building refrigerant pipework will be distributed vertically within services cupboards and horizontally within the ceiling void at high level on each floor. Indoor units shall contain inverter-driven, variable speed fans, and shall be provided with a local space temperature sensor. Units shall be programmed to maintain a maximum space temperature of (24C) in normal mode and (30C) in setback mode, to be selected by the

4.6

CHILLER COMPOUND AIR HANDLING SYSTEM Ventilation is provided to the Chiller Compound using a ceiling-mounted miniature Air Handling Unit hung from the pump room soffit. The Chiller Compound air handling unit will have outside air intake and exhaust connections with cross-flow plate heat exchanger, panel filter sections and variable speed supply and extract fans. Attenuation will be selected to meet the NR ratings specified on the room data sheet. Outside air intakes are to be provided with sand louvers and exhaust air points will have non-return dampers and standard weather louvers. Supply air will be ducted from the ceiling - mounted unit to duct-mounted grille outlets, each of which is located close to the back of 3 no. ceiling-mounted high-static VRF cassette units in the pump room. Supply air to the LV room is ducted to a single grille located in the opposite corner to the LV room door. Extract air will be ducted to the air handling unit from a duct-mounted grille located in the corner of the pump room. Return air from the LV room is provided through the pump room, via door-mounted louvres. The air handling unit shall be capable of operating in a minimum of 2 modes (normal mode and setback mode), with selection of the operating mode to be determined by a local BMS outstation. The system shall provide run/fault signals to be monitored by the BMS outstation. Under normal mode, a constant air volume will be supplied to each room. The variable speed drive on each fan motor will be used to set the initial system air flow-rate during commissioning. Under heating setback or cooling setback a minimum or trickle air volume will be supplied to the building. Supply ductwork will be insulated to minimise energy losses and to prevent condensation. 4.7

CHILLER COMPOUND COOLING SYSTEM A Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) cooling system will be provided to serve the Chiller Compound Pump Room and LV Room. The heat rejection unit will be located in the air cooled chiller enclosure. The system shall operate in one of a minimum of 2 no. modes (normal mode and setback mode), to be selected by a local BMS outstation. The unit shall provide run/fault signals to be monitored by the BMS outstation. All refrigerant pipework will be thermally insulated and provided with vapour barriers.

The system shall operate in one of a minimum of 4 no. modes (cooling mode, heating mode, heating setback and cooling setback), to be selected by a local BMS outstation. The unit shall provide run/fault signals to be monitored by the BMS outstation. All refrigerant pipework will be thermally insulated and provided with vapour barriers.

Within the building refrigerant pipework will be distributed vertically within services cupboards and horizontally within the ceiling void at high level on each floor. 2 no. ducted, indoor units shall be provided, each containing inverter-driven, variable speed fans. One unit shall meet the majority of the buildings space cooling loads, with return air from shadow gaps around the ceiling edge to be draw into the unit via the ceiling plenum. Supply air shall be via linear grilles located along the long Office window. The second unit shall meet the buildings fresh air load and the load associated with the buildings Telecoms equipment room. Outdoor air from the air handling unit and air from an intake plenum at high level, at the back of the Telecoms equipment room shall be ducted into an intake plenum on the back of the unit. Make-up air to the Telecoms equipment room shall be provided via a louvred door. Both units should be controlled to maintain a constant supply air temperature. The supply air temperature setpoint shall be selected by the local BMS outstation, to [14C] in normal mode and [uncontrolled] in setback or heating mode. The units fan speed should be independently controlled to maintain a room air temperature setpoint which is also to be selected by the BMS outstation. The room air temperature setpoint shall be [26C] in cooling mode, [30C] in cooling setback mode, and [uncontrolled] in heating and heating setback mode. Refer to BMS Reference Design Report for Main Stadium to determine required BMS hardware points for the VRF/DX cooling system described above.

4.10

OUTSIDE BROADCAST COMPOUND VENTILATION SYSTEMS Ventilation is provided to the Outside Broadcast Compound using a ceiling-mounted miniature Air Handling Unit. The unit will have outside air intake and exhaust connections with cross-flow plate heat exchanger, panel filter sections and variable speed supply and extract fans. Attenuation will be selected to meet the NR ratings specified on the room data sheet. Outside air intakes are to be provided with sand louvers and exhaust air points will have non-return dampers and standard weather louvers. Supply air will be ducted from the air handling unit to the plena at the back of each of the 2 no. ducted, ceiling-mounted VRF unit that are mounted alongside it. Extract air will be ducted to the unit via a duct-mounted return air grille located in the corner of the room. The unit shall be capable of operating in a minimum of 2 modes (normal mode, setback mode), with selection of the operating mode to be determined by a local BMS outstation. The system shall provide run/fault signals to be monitored by the BMS outstation. Under normal mode the unit will be controlled to maintain a constant air volume to each room. The variable speed drive on the extract fan motor will be used to set the initial system air flow-rate during commissioning. 4.11

OUTSIDE BROADCAST COMPOUND COOLING SYSTEMS 2 No. independent DX cooling systems will be provided to serve the Outside Broadcast Compound. The heat rejection unit will be located within the OBC fence, concealing the unit from visitors. The system shall operate in one of a minimum of 4 no. modes (cooling mode, heating mode, heating setback and cooling setback), to be selected by a local BMS outstation. The unit shall provide run/fault signals to be monitored by the BMS outstation. All refrigerant pipework will be thermally insulated and provided with vapour barriers. Within the building refrigerant pipework will be distributed vertically within services cupboards and horizontally within the ceiling void at high level on each floor. 2 no. ducted, indoor units shall be provided, each containing inverter-driven, variable speed fans. Return air to the units is ducted from a plenum built to form the rear side of each of the 3 no. IT racks contained within the room. This is ducted directly into the plena that form the back of each cooling unit, via a non-return damper. Cooled supply air is then discharged directly into the rest of the room, surrounding the rack air intakes. Both units should be controlled to maintain a constant supply air temperature of [24C]. Refer to BMS Reference Design Report for Main Stadium to determine required BMS hardware points for the VRF/DX cooling system described above.

4.12

ATHLETICS FACILITY GENERATOR BUILDING AIR HANDLING SYSTEM Ventilation is provided to the South and West Vehicle Checking Facilities using a miniature Air Handling Unit mounted in the Office ceiling void. The Office miniature air handling unit will have outside air intake and exhaust connections with cross-flow plate heat exchanger, panel filter sections and variable speed supply and extract fans. Attenuation will be selected to meet the NR ratings specified on the room data sheet. Outside air intakes are to be provided with sand louvers and exhaust air points will have non-return dampers and standard weather louvers. Supply air will be ducted from the air handling unit to the plenum at the back of one of the ducted VRF unit that is mounted on the OB TCR ceiling, and to the plenum at the back of the ducted VRF that is mounted on the Bin Store ceiling. Extract air will be ducted to the unit via ceiling-mounted extract valves located in the kitchen and WC areas, each of which will be provided with a commissioning damper. The unit shall be capable of operating in a minimum of 2 modes (normal mode, setback mode), with selection of the operating mode to be determined by a local BMS outstation. The system shall provide run/fault signals to be monitored by the BMS outstation.

The heat rejection units will be wall-mounted, in the recessed section of the Bin Store wall, concealing the units from general view. The systems shall each operate in one of a minimum of 4 no. modes (cooling mode, heating mode, heating setback and cooling setback), to be selected by a local BMS outstation. The systems shall each provide run/fault signals to be monitored by the BMS outstation. All refrigerant pipework will be thermally insulated and provided with vapour barriers. The length of refrigerant and condensate pipework to be routed through the OB TCR will be minimised wherever possible. Ceiling-mounted units shall be provided, each containing inverter-driven, variable speed fans. Outside air is ducted to a plenum built into the rear of the bin store unit and one of the OB TCR units. The Bin Store and OB TCR room units should be separately controlled to maintain independent room temperature setpoints to be determined by the BMS outstation. For the bin store, this shall be [15C] under cooling mode, [uncontrolled] under heating mode, [30C] under cooling setback mode and [uncontrolled] under heating setback mode. For the OB TCR, this shall be [25C] under cooling mode, [uncontrolled] under heating mode, [30C] under cooling setback mode and [uncontrolled] under heating setback mode.
