Abstract
we did the spesific heat of solid substance experiment in the basic physic laboratory to determine the spesific heat of solid substance using calorimeter and carefull to use calorimeter. the step that we used in this experiment is measure the water in the calorimeter after cooled by ice as T1, Then measure the solid temperature when the solid substance is heated in the heating vessel as T b. Put the solid substance into calorimeter, strir with stirer, measure that temperature until it get maximum and constant temperature as T2. By substituting mb,Tb,T1, T2,ma,mk,ck,mp and cp into formula, we can get the value of cb. When the calorimeter is cooled by ice, its possible to temperature of room enter into calorimeter. so the temperature of water is not pure, thats why we have high uncertainty percent. from this experiment, we get the value of cb average is 0,317 Kal/gr C, so the Cb is (0,3170,049) Kal/gr C. We also get 15,46% uncertainty and 84,54% accuracy.

PRELIMINARY The specific heat of substance is the number that show how many heat that needed to heat a mass unit from the increasing temperature as high 1C .The specific heat can be determine using calorimeter . To determine the specific heat without the exchange of heat with around ,so do the experiment to determine the specific heat of solid substance using calorimeter . Based on the background we can take a problem state How to determine the specific heat of substance using calorimeter ? and How many the value of specific heat of solid substance using calorimeter ?. The purpose of this experiment are To understand and carefully solid substance using calorimeter, and To determine the solid substance using calorimeter . from the problem state above, thehypothesis is, to

Basic Theory The spesific heat of solid substance is a value number that shows the heat magnitude that needed to heat a mass unit from the increasing temperature as high 1 C .To heat (m) gram of mass with the increasing temperature as high (t) , needed heat as high Q=m.c.t , with c is a spesific heat . The spesific heat of substance not depend on the temperature . Spesific heat in this case is the average of heat in that temperature spesific heat can be determind using calorimeter , if the exchange heat between calorimeter and the around . So : Qrelated = Qaccepted mb cb (tb-t2) = (ma +mk . ck +mp . cp )(t2-t1) where : mb = mass of solid substance mp = mass of stirer ma = mass of water mk = mass of calorimeter

determine the value of solid substance is back to pattern . According to the Blacks principle as follows . Qrelated = Qaccepted mb cb (tb-t2) = (ma +mk . ck +mp . cp )(t2-t1)

cb = spesific heat of solid substance ck = spesific heat of calorimeter cp = spesific heat of stirer tb = temperature of solid substance t2 = temperature of solid in the last t1 = temperature of solid in the first According to the Blacks principle , then the heat exchanged in substance be determine by measuring the spesific heat of the substance using calorimeter .

the temperature , it cant if we enter ice to inside of calorimeter , because it will add the volume of wqater inside of calorimeter . So, we just stick the ice in the outside of calorimeter and then clean the outwall of calorimeter , si it hast dew . After that entered the calorimeter in that place and record the initial themperature . Then , record the pressure that read in the barometer and then take the brass metal from vessel then enter quickly into calorimeter, stir the water with stirer and observe the maximum temperature until it doesnt change again as last temperature . Repeat this experiment five times with the different volume of water that entered into calorimeter . experiment variable Manipulation variable : - mass of water that entered in calorimeter (ma) Respon variable : - the spesific heat of solid substance (cb) Control variable : - mass of solid substance - mass of stirer - mass of calorimeter - temperature of solid substance - themperature first

CONCLUSSION The conclussion that we can conclude in this experiment are The spesific heat of brass based on our experiment is (0,3170,049) Kal/gr C with 15,46% uncertainty and 84,54% accuracy. and it also conclude that The value of cb is influenced by room pressure, room temperature II. ANALYSIS From the data above we can find the value of cb with the equation. Qrelated = Qaccepted mb cb (tb-t2) = (ma +mk . ck +mp . cp )(t2-t1) REFERENCE Tim Pembina Praktikum Fisika Dasar 1 2011.Panduan Praktikum Fisika Dasar 1 .Surabaya:UNESA www. Scribd.com/doc/6904685/13kalor serway From the equation above, we get the value of cb s the table below, Number of experiment 1 2 3 4 5 cb Kal/gr C 0,315 0,389 0,442 0,281 0,158 cb (c averageSD) Kal/gr C by

(0,3170,049)

Based on the table above, we get 15,46% uncertainty and 84,54%accuracy. DISCUSSION Based on our group result , the value of spesific heat of brass substance that we get is not same with the theory value because it has influenced by room temperature and room pressure, in the theory the value c of brass is 0,092 Kal/gr C at temperature 25C, while the value c of brass that we get is 0,317 Kal/gr C at temperature 30 C . the other cause is when the water in the calorimeter is cooled by ice , it possible to temperature in room enter into calorimeter, so the temperature of water is not pure . Because some causes above , thats why we have high uncertainty .
