Dron - Armor

Standard Infantry Armor of the army Armor

Only the bravest or most foolish of people enter combat without wearing a lot of defensive equipment. Armor has been in constant development over the ages and is a result of balancing protectiveness with ease of movement. Another problem was manufacturing in sufficient numbers to equip the whole army. After many tests they decided on chainmail for the soldiers. The first were simple chain-shirts, but as the years passed and battles were fought, more and more armor were added until it consisted of a long shirt with sleeves over chain leggings. (AT 15) This became the basis of most armour ever worn by the army and the armourers became very skilled at making these.

Spalders However development wasnt over yet and several improvements were made. The first were metal plates to protect the shoulders as those were the most hit by strikes deflected of the helmet. These later evolved into spalders for better movement of the arms. (+3 DB for a pair)

Kneeguard Then came the knee-guard, which not only protected the knee but also helped reduce the drag of the chain leggings. Like the rest of the armor, these were made of high steel and soon became standard equipment in the infantry. (+3 DB; -5 min maneuver penalty; +5 max. maneuver penalty)

Elbow guard Another woundable part was the elbow, so that was the next to be protected. Again this proved to be a good move, even if it made it a little bit harder to use a missile weapon. Infantry using bow were not required to use those. (+3 DB per pair; -5 Missile Penalty)

Dron - Armor
Camail The first attempt to protect the neck, were a chainmail hood called a camail. While it worked, as it should, it was cumbersome and heavy. (+2 DB; +10 max maneuver penalty) The camail was later discarded when the armourers developed plate neck protection, called a Gorget. Just as protective as the camail it was lighter and not nearly as cumbersome, especially since it could be used to fasten the Spalders to the armor. (+3 DB) Gauntlets Hand and finger protection were first leather, but as everything else developed into metal, so did the gauntlets. The design favoured by the army was demi-gauntlets, which did not cover the tip of the fingers or the palm of the hand. Two vital parts for spell casting. (+3 DB)

Turma:
For defence the ancient army used a tall shield, called a Turma, made from magical hardened wood with a steel rim (a +10 full shield). When standing in formation these shields gives excellent protection. Not only against missile attack, but also against elemental ball attacks like fireball and coldball, which many demons can use. Powers: +10 DB Full Shield that weights 12 lbs. Cannot burn.
