Student Welfare Team
The Student Welfare Team comprises professional and friendly staff qualified to assist students in a broad range of areas, including counselling. The service is free and confidential.

English Language Support

A comprehensive portfolio of English language courses including Business and Academic English are offered by the CIC English language centre. Students seeking support with English language comprehension will benefit from the English language support offered by CIC.

Study Skills Sessions

Students are encouraged to take advantage of the Study Skills Sessions offered at CIC. Typical skills targeted include academic and report writing, computer literacy and time management skills. The aim of the study skills sessions is to support students to achieve successful course outcomes as well as preparing students for further study.

Student & Administrative Services

CIC employs friendly and interested staff to provide customer and administrative services to students. The aim of CIC staff is to promptly and effectively attend to students requests for access to services or information.

Job Assistance
Students who are seeking to prepare for employment can take advantage of the job assist sessions. In these sessions, students learn how to prepare and write a resume and cover letter, prepare and present at interviews and present a professional attitude in the workplace. The job assistance program is open to all students and is a free service.

Student Council
The Student Council is a committee of CIC students whose role is to represent the voice of the CIC student body. The Student Council regularly meet with management on student issues and ideas for improvement of the student experience. The Student Council seek to engage all CIC students by planning and organising social activities and student events focussing on celebrations of cultural diversity.

IT & Library Services

Students have access to library services and computer facilities, internet, and email in labs and self-access areas.

China Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology The Automotive workshop that we use at CIC is very well equipped. It simulates a real Automotive workshop and there is a good combination of theory and hands-on practice. The best part is that we get the chance to work on well known brand cars such as Toyota and Ford. All the CIC trainers are very experienced, many of them are local mechanics with several years of experience in this industry.

Higher Education
Higher Education at CIC
The higher education accredited Diploma of Business and Bachelor of Business programs offered at CIC aim to: Provide a critically reflective theoretical and experiential learning context Integrate theory and practice in a dynamic learning environment Provide support to cultivate personal and professional development As well as providing students with targeted learning opportunities, encouragement and quality teaching, CIC Higher Education programs are supported by a range of academic and personal support services.

Diploma of Business
The higher education accredited Diploma of Business prepares students for employment or further study. The diploma includes 8 business units introducing essential business knowledge areas of management, accounting, economics, commercial law, marketing, business information technology, communications and statistics. Increasing the employability prospects of graduates is the inclusion of a careers preparedness unit. This unit is undertaken in the second half of the course. The unit aims to provide students with the confidence and ability to identify opportunities for employment and approach prospective employers.

Higher Education
Bachelor of Business (Accounting)
The Bachelor of Business (Accounting) has CPA accreditation and IPA membership and incorporates the Core Body of Knowledge in Business that is recommended by Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA), National Institute of Accountants (NIA), Australian Institute of Management (AIM), Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) and the Australian Market and Social Research Society (AMSRS).

Career Opportunities
Graduates will be well placed to begin a career in a variety of accounting based roles. Because of the strong Management Accountant units in this degree, future corporate senior management positions may be possible.

Bachelor of Business (Management)

The Bachelor of Business (Management) equips graduates with the skills and knowledge to work in middle management roles in a variety of public and private industries. This program will develop business and leadership skills and give students the ability to manage people successfully. The course also ensures that students have the opportunity to build essential knowledge including finance and marketing principles, business law and sound management skills.

Career Opportunities
Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Business (Management) students will have gained the skills and knowledge to work in a middle management role.

Bachelor of Business (Marketing)

The Bachelor of Business (Marketing) aims to produce graduates who have a thorough knowledge of business and marketing principles and practices. Students will gain the skills and knowledge to identify marketing opportunities, generate new ideas, undertake market research and analysis, and confidently apply their knowledge and skills in marketing positions within domestic Australian or Internationally focused organisations.

Career Opportunities
Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Business (Marketing) students will have gained the skills and knowledge to work in a marketing and/or business orientated role within internationally or domestically focused organisations.

Course Delivery
The Bachelor of Business courses are delivered over six 12-week Semesters. The study mode is full-time and consists of 16 contact hours per week.

Vocational Programs - Marketing

BSB41307 Certificate IV in Marketing
The Certificate IV in Marketing will provide students with marketing skills and knowledge and develop their ability to apply these skills and their knowledge across a variety of marketing contexts. Students will develop their ability to analyse and evaluate information, undertake market and product research, foster client relationships and professional networks and prepare professional marketing documents, plans and presentations.

BSB51207 Diploma of Marketing

The Diploma of Marketing will show students how to interpret market trends, manage marketing budgets, plan market research and identify and evaluate marketing opportunities. In addition to enhancing their marketing knowledge base, students will be provided with the tools to develop and apply managerial skills.

Course Delivery
The Certificate IV and the Diploma are both delivered over 2 terms. The study mode is full time (20 hours per week).

Career Opportunities
Completion of the certificate IV will prepare students to undertake job roles such as marketing officer, marketing research officer or public relations officer. Completion of the diploma will provide students with the skills and knowledge to undertake job roles such as marketing team leader or marketing manager, product or public relations manager.

Management and Business

BSB51107 Diploma of Management
The Diploma of Management focuses on building communication, leadership and planning skills which are fundamental in all managerial positions. Trainees will develop a broad range of skills such as managing set tasks, people, budgets and financial plans.

Course Delivery
The Diploma of Management is delivered over three 10 week terms, with a 2 week break between each term.

Career Opportunities
Upon completion of the Diploma of Management, students will obtain managerial skills to work at a more senior level in customer service roles in a variety of industries.

BSB50207 Diploma of Business

The Diploma of Business is a practical course focusing on a wide range of operational business skills which are necessary in any business setting. Students will develop skills and knowledge in administration, human resources, information technology, marketing and advertising.

Course Delivery
The Diploma of Business is delivered over two 10-week terms with a 2-week break between each term. The study mode is full time (20 hours) per week.

Career Opportunities
Graduates of the Diploma of Business will obtain practical skills and knowledge in business operations which may lead to job roles such as administrator, office manager, project officer, personal assistant or executive officer in a variety of industries.

Diploma of Management & Business

Students wishing to complete the two qualifications may be able to complete them within a shorter timeframe via credit transfer arrangements. Students who complete the Diploma of Management or Diploma of Business may be able to complete both qualifications and qualify for both awards within 12 months. Automotive
AUR30405 Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (light vehicle)
Undertaking this qualification will provide students with the skills and knowledge required to repair and maintain mechanical systems and components of motor vehicles weighing up to 4.5 tons.

AUR40208 Certificate IV in Automotive Technology

Students will be prepared to perform advanced diagnostic and repair operations in an automotive retail, service or repair environment upon completion of this qualification.

Course Delivery
Certificate III is delivered over 5 terms and Certificate IV is delivered over a further 3 terms. The study mode is full time (20 hours per week).

Career Opportunities
The certificate III prepares students to enter the automotive industry and in particular to perform servicing and repairs on light vehicles. Possible employment outcomes upon completion of the certificate IV include vehicle service or repair manager or advanced vehicle technician.

Entry Requirements

Digital Media
Course Delivery

CUF50207 Diploma of Interactive Digital Media

Students will develop a variety of digital media skills including how to create 3D digital and web environments, use interactive authoring tools, design games and respond to design briefs.

The qualification is delivered over 4 terms. The study mode is full time (20 hours per week).

Career Opportunities
Completion of the diploma will provide students with the skills and knowledge to undertake job roles such as animation or visual effects designer or interactive media developer.

Entry Requirements

Hospitality
SIT30807 Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)
This qualification provides students with the skills and knowledge to work in a variety of hospitality settings. Students are given instruction in, and practise a variety of culinary techniques used in local and world cuisines.

SIT50307 Diploma of Hospitality

The diploma focuses on building communication, leadership, and planning skills relevant to the hospitality industry. The course will prepare students to undertake managerial roles in hospitality enterprises including restaurants, hotels, clubs and cafes.

Course Delivery
The certificate III is delivered over 5 terms and the diploma is delivered over a further 3 terms. Both qualifications have a compulsory work placement which is undertaken at Pan Pacific Hotel under the supervision of CIC trainers. The study mode is full time (20 hours per week).

Career Opportunities
Upon completion of the certificate, students will be able to seek employment as a qualified cook. Upon completion of the diploma, students will be able to seek entry into managerial roles in a small hospitality setting or in a department of a larger hospitality venture.

Entry Requirements

Aged Care

CHC30208 Certificate III in Aged Care

Undertaking this qualification will provide students with the skills and knowledge to provide personal care services to people living in an aged care setting.

CHC40108 Certificate IV in Aged Care

In undertaking this qualification, students will be encouraged to further develop their ability to provide services to older people including assisting with activities designed to encourage independence and community participation.

Course Delivery
The certificate III is delivered over 2 terms with an additional 4-week work placement requirement. The certificate IV is delivered over 3 terms with a 2-week work placement requirement. The study mode is full time (20 hours per week).

Career Opportunities
Completion of the qualifications will prepare students to undertake a variety of support roles including accommodation support officer, personal care assistant or community support worker. Completion of the certificate IV will also prepare students to undertake co-ordination or supervisory duties.

One year later, Im now studying the Bachelor of Business (Accounting) course in Cambridge. I cant believe the progress Ive made. The course is amazing. I got to know a lot of people from different countries, and the activities in the classes taught us how to work in groups. My teachers are fantastic and they are always happy to help me with my studies whenever I need help. English Programs
CIC has an excellent reputation for offering an extensive range of high quality English language courses to students from over 40 different countries. Designed to suit students with a variety of study requirements, English language instruction is offered from Elementary through to the Advanced levels.
Course Delivery
All courses are offered on a full-time basis of 20 hours per week. In addition, up to 5 hours of scheduled free EXTRA classes are offered. These EXTRA classes comprise hour long sessions in areas such as Pronunciation, Grammar, Listening and Discussion.

Real Life Settings - Excursions

Every 5 weeks students enjoy excursions to interesting city destinations and attractions. Teachers prepare out-of-class learning activities so that students develop a greater level of confidence through practising their English skills in real life settings.

Progress Testing
At the end of each 5-week study block students are progress tested and are required to attend an interview with their teacher to discuss how to further develop their strengths and improve any weaker areas.

Teaching Staff
Fully qualified, experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated, CICs teachers deliver well prepared and stimulating lessons at all levels. All teachers have a Bachelor level qualification and a recognised TESOL qualification.

Entry to the English Programs

All English programs except the General English program require evidence of a sufficient level of English proficiency for entry into the program. General English students are tested for proficiency in the broad skill areas of Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing and Grammar during Orientation and are placed in the appropriate level. A test may be taken prior to arrival however students are re-tested upon arrival to confirm their English language level.

FREE English EXTRAS

In addition to classes, students can participate in CICs FREE English Extras. These small workshops focus on different areas of English, such as pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, listening and more and provide students with a great opportunity to improve their English quickly and effectively.

English Programs
General English
With its communicative approach, the General English program teaches students to use English in a wide range of social situations and day to day contexts. Covering all levels from Elementary through to Advanced, the course focuses on the core language skills of speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.

Academic English
The Academic English course is designed for those students preparing to enter VET or Bachelor level programs including CICs own Bachelor programs. Students focus on academic skills such as essay writing, delivering oral presentations, reading and note-taking from academic texts, listening and note-taking from lectures, developing critical thinking and research skills, and group work.

Business English
The Business English program is ideal for students wishing to gain knowledge, vocabulary and skills specific to a business environment. Students develop the skills to conduct meetings, write formal reports, and give presentations in a business context.

IELTS Preparation
The IELTS test is globally recognised, and is often the key to gaining entry to tertiary institutions. Specifically designed to optimise a candidates IELTS exam results, the IELTS preparation course is offered at Upper Intermediate and Advanced level. The course targets specific skill development across all of the required areas and focuses strongly on test practice. Students are challenged to develop their skills to the highest possible levels.

Cambridge Exam Preparation

CIC offers intensive classes to prepare students for the FCE & CAE, awards at Upper Intermediate and Advanced levels respectively, under the Common European Framework of Reference. The 10 to 12 week courses focus on preparing students in the key areas of the exams: Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing and Language Skills. Classes are small, and practice exam papers form a key part of these programs.

Cambridge Exam Preparation (Computer-Based)

CIC Perth is an officially recognised testing centre for computer-based Cambridge Exams (FCE, CAE & PET). To prepare students for the computer-based FCE exam CIC offers computer-based FCE exam preparation courses. The course is very similar to the FCE preparation course for the paper-based exam, but includes plenty of digital test practice.

Certificate IV in TESOL
Successful completion of this program leads to a nationally recognised qualification in Teaching English as a Second Language. Suitable for anyone wishing to teach ESL to adults in Australia or overseas, the program focuses on the latest communicative teaching methods and planning and delivery of effective lessons. The program includes theory, practical teaching experience and TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test) preparation.

Travel along one of the worlds most scenic roads and discover the breathtaking coastline of Victoria. See the famous Twelve Apostles, the Otways Rainforest and learn how to surf at Bells Beach.

Wilsons Promontory
Relax by the beach, go swimming or hike to the top of Mount Oberon and enjoy amazing views of the coastline at Wilsons Promontory. You may even see some wombats, koalas and other Australian animals in the wild!

Phillip Island and Penguin Parade

See the world famous little penguins and hand feed a kangaroo and at this popular destination in Victoria. Take a walk by the beach or explore the beautiful seaside town Cowes.

Off-Campus Activities Perth

Swan River Cruise
Students see all the sights from Perth to Fremantle during a relaxing afternoon on the river including millionaire mansions, lots of yachts, and sometimes even dolphins!

Caversham Wildlife Park

Excursions to Caversham Wildlife Park allow students to get up close and learn more about Australian animals. Come touch a koala, hold a wombat and feed the kangaroos at this popular zoo in Perth.

Kings Park Barbecue

Enjoy an Australian barbecue with your class mates and teachers whilst taking in the spectacular views of the city and river from Perths number one park.
