In late 2010, Kylemore Communities created quite a stir with the newest release of 61 homes, priced from $1 million, and the opening of two gorgeous 50-foot Model Homes in the prestigious West Village neighbourhood of Angus Glen in Markham. These stunning models, designed and decorated by Jane Lockhart of W Networks Colour Confidential, captivated the publics attention and just over 6,000 visited in the first three weeks. The overwhelming sales success, due in large part to the Model Homes, prompted Kylemore to release additional lots in June.

Jane collaborated with Kylemores architects, plus interior designer, Elaine Shea, on the model residences to create surroundings that cover the spectrum of home life from quiet family times to grand entertaining. The 3,900 square foot, two-storey Dublin model has threeand-a-half baths. On the main floor is the formal dining room with coffered and painted ceilings, and a garden room that graces the back of the home. The family room opens to the gourmet kitchen with white cabinetry and contrasting dark-coloured island with leathered-finish granite countertop and stone flooring. SubZero and Wolf appliances are shown. Throughout the main floor, elegant handscraped engineered hardwood flooring is showcased. In the 4,250 square foot Tully-with-loft model, the foyer has a soaring ceiling and grey natural stone flooring, creating a memorable first impression. The two-storey living room has a fireplace, and the living rooms opens to the spacious dining room with its coffered ceiling, rope lighting and china niches. The gourmet kitchen showcases a brand new design by Paris Kitchens with grey glazed cabinetry and framed floating shelves.

According to Lockhart, the Tullys design is so dramatic that it creates instant glamour and sophistication. The foyer, with its 9-foot ceilings and grey natural stone flooring, sets the stage for the dramatic entrance. The gourmet kitchen showcases a brand new design by Paris Kitchens with grey glazed cabinetry, framed floating shelves and two-toned marble countertops with matching backsplash. The third floor loft offers the perfect location for the master retreat with a sitting area and cozy fireplace. The huge ensuite is ideal for unwinding in the large deep soaker tub or shower with body spray. The oversized dressing area and walk-in closet creates an unparalleled feeling of luxury.
When it came to furnishings, the designers used pieces with simple lines to accentuate the spacious, open plan and dramatic palette, while also maintaining a sense of proportion. It was important to create a contrast from the traditional model next door with a contemporary, fresh, sophisticated design, says Aboutaam. I wanted to show our clients that they could bring Torontos chic downtown style and living to north of the city. Jane and Elaine achieved that by brilliantly utilizing the trio colour palette of black, grey and white, with a blast of purples and metallics throughout this truly adds the drama we were aiming to achieve.

kylemore commUnities hockey with heart event charity golf toUrnament raises $100,000
In August, Kylemore Communities Hockey with Heart Charity Golf Event and Gala, held at Angus Glen Golf Club, raised $100,000 for community organizations including Childrens Wish, B-Strong, Pathways for Children, Youth and Families, Yellow Brick House, and Markham Food bank. It was a phenomenal success, said Patrick OHanlon, President of Kylemore Communities. The event brought together our Kylemore trades and suppliers, plus many local families and community partners to help a wonderful cause. This years success sets a benchmark we can build on with even more community participation in the future. The event kicked-off with registration and lunch for 200 keen golfers who teed off at 1:30pm. The evenings entertainment included a mouthwatering dinner and live performance by Northern Harbour Canadas ultimate Jimmy Buffet tribute band. Great prizes and a silent auction wrapped up the event. We will be contributing over $100,000 to satisfy identified needs and provide support to our community organizations, said Bill Dawson, Chair of Hockey with Heart. Hockey with Heart was started by Unionville Mens Hockey League.
To help raise funds and awareness for Markham Stouffville Hospital Emergency and Mental Health Services, Vice President Frank Spaziani led a Kylemore team through their paces in the Angus Glen Half Marathon. This annual event involves participants of all ages and abilities with a 5K, 10K and a new 1K race for kids. Kylemore was the sponsor of the 5K run. This is a great event for a great cause, said Frank. The staff at MSH help so many and we are honoured to be a part of this fundraising event. The total raised from the event was a whopping $70,000 which brings the total of all funds raised for Markham Stouffville Hospital through the Angus Glen Half Marathon to over $430,000.
