FYI
Aircrew
Senior Profile Cont" Planner and Controller I have studied Taekwondo, a Korean martial art, for over nine years, and taught at my own school for the past three of those years. I am currently a second degree Black Belt, studying for my test for third degree. I was the first female officer and Director of the US Taekwondo Won, a traditional national sanctioning organization. I have won or placed in several national tournaments in forms, sparring, and breaking. I joined CAP due to my interest in flying and volunteerism, having previously taken private pilot lessons at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Over the years, I have volunteered for a variety of organizations (Favorite saying: "I'm in!"), too numerous to list here!
Updated reference material for the GX 55 and Becker has been placed on our Aircrew page of our squadron website. Please take the time to print off this material and place it in your flight bag if you do not have this information already.
05/16/2009 Once again, the WV Wing has received an "Outstanding Rating" for action during an AF Graded SAR Eval. This rating is as good as it gets. This Outstanding Rating is the second one in a row, and that is something that has never happened in WV and probably not often in all of CAP. The Staff, and ALL the Ground and Air Crews that participated today should give themselves a pat on the back. It was my very sincere pleasure to work with all of you during this mission. You deserve much more than a Thank You. Your dedication to duty is truly above and beyond, and I was proud to be the IC and be able to work with so many truly dedicated CAP members. Thanks again for all your hard work, and your dedication to Civil Air Patrol, our State and Nation. Eugene Thorn, Lt Col., CAP Vice Commander West Virginia Wing Civil Air Patrol

consistently generating a spark to create a flame and burn the propane gas. If the flame is not visible, the heavier-than-air propane gas may be escaping and could explode.
Never bring the propane tank into the
house. Charcoal Grill Safety Tips Charcoal produces carbon monoxide (CO) when it is burned. CO is a colorless, odorless gas that can accumulate to toxic levels in closed environments. Each year about 17 people die as a result of CO fumes from charcoal being burned inside. To reduce the risk of CO poisoning:
Never burn charcoal inside of homes,
indoors, even if ventilation is provided. Questions, comments, or want to write an article and have it posted on this newsletter? Just send an email to svelez@suddenlink.net. Missed and issue? Go to www.pkbcap.com and press calendar.
Since charcoal produces CO fumes
until the charcoal is completely extinguished, do not store the grill indoors with freshly used coals.
