RESEARCH EXPERIENCES
I have done research work in different field of Immunology laboratory at the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (ICDDR, B) under the supervision of Dr. Firdausi Qadri from November09 to December' 11. My Masters thesis work which was titled Detection of genetic diversity of heat labile toxin (LT) expressed by enterotoxigenic Escherichia Coli (ETEC) strains isolated from human. Main target of this work was vaccine development against ETEC diarrhea. After my thesis work I have done Mismatch Amplification Mutation assay PCR (MAMA PCR), AKI ELISA and various phenotypic tests like- hemolysis, chicken cell agglutination (CCA) test, lysis by classical phage-IV, lysis by El Tor phage 5, sensitivity to polymyxin B assay for the identification of Classical and El Tor biotypes of Vibrio Cholerae. Main purpose of this work was to detect low toxin producing altered El Tor strains for the development of vaccine against cholera. Currently I am doing Vibriocidal assay for the detection of antibody titre in plasma against Vibrio Cholerae. As I am so passionate about Molecular Biology, during my Bachelor degree I worked on the Molecular Biology laboratory in my department (Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Dhaka) as a fellow student and learnt numerous basic molecular biological techniques.
