2011 Time: 45 Class: 1 ft No. of students: 4 Aims: The therapeutic lesson for dyslexia students improvement of visual functions, orientation in space, manual dexterity and graphomotor skills

Objectives: language objectives: internalising of vocabulary expressing fruits educational objectives: cooperate in the groups and pair work, develop selfconfidence Language material: grammar: building sentences in English vocabulary: fruits functions: describe shortly an animal Timetable fit: Previous lesson: animals Next lesson: Materials and teaching aids: bins or colourful cords, a ball, flashcards and labels with the words presented in the pictures, plastic fruits, a box, a marker pen, a blindfold or a scarf, adhesive tape or magnets Possible problems: Students can refuse to work rejecting the activities as boring

Vocabulary revision animals 8 The teacher prepares bins in three colours or creates circles from cords They put captions on each bin or cord that is a category, for instance: without legs with two legs, with four legs. The students stand in to rows in single file. The student on the front has to call loudly an animal name. The student behind of him has to throw a ball into the bin marked with the right category and make a sentence in English. For example, The cat has got four legs. The first persons moves to the end of the row. The person who was throwing continues. Individual students come to the board and 5 are asked to match the right label with a word to the correct picture. The teacher gives students the same 5 picture that he showed earlier but in smaller size. The students have to paste the pictures in their notebooks. After that they have to write their names beneath. One student comes to the board, the rest 5 hold their eyes closed. The student on the board removes one flashcard with its label. The rest of the class has to say, which one was removed. Palm drawing. The teacher divides the 4 students into pairs. One student is drawing with their finger a fruit on the palm of their partners palm. The second has to guess which fruit is being drawn. Students try to find all fruits hidden in a 5 pseudo-text (attachment 2) A student put on a blindfold and has to 5 find in a box a fruit the teacher calls. Homework: A crossword (attachment 3)

1. Was the lesson successful? The lesson was successful. It was designed for an additional rehabilitation lesson on that the four students participate because of their dyslexia problem. The students had a lot of fun while doing the tasks. 2. Were the objectives for the particular tasks achieved? Did students accomplish the tasks? The students accomplished almost all the tasks I presented to them. We barely had time to do the last task. 3. What was the most and the least effective part of the lesson? Why was it so? The most effective part of the lesson was the use of a wide array of teaching aids that made the lesson interesting for students. 4. Did the teacher have to make any modifications in comparison with the original plan? Why? I planned too many activities for one lesson, so I was forced to give up finding words in the pseudo text and make additional homework task from it. Those students with whom I have to deal were from a special class and they need much more time for activities than average students. 5. Was the form of work appropriate for the task? The forms of work I presented on the lesson were appropriate for the planned activities and various.
