Friction

Friction is the force that opposes the relative motion or tendency of such motion of two surfaces in contact. The force acts in the opposite direction to the way an object wants to slide.

What are the advantages of friction? Friction can help with a lot of things. It can slow you down so that you will not go too fast when you walk or run. It helps with over-population because it wears down machines and when the machines explode they kill people. Friction can also remove the plaque on your teeth. Friction can also be used for making fire. This can be seen when we try to light a match. It also produces heat to keep us warm. When we eat, it keeps the food on the spoon so that they will not fall. Also, if we dont have friction we will always slip and bump into everything. Friction can also make cars have better grip on the road so they wont slip.

Gravity
Gravity is an attractive force between any two masses. It is by far the weakest of the four fundamental forces. Gravity holds us firmly on the ground and also keeps the earth circling the sun. It draws rain from the sky and causes the tides. This mysterious gravity force continues to puzzle scientists even as it gives stability to the universe. How is gravity able to act across empty space, and why does it exist in the first place? Science has never been very successful in explaining such "natural" laws. After all, these universal rules cannot slowly arise by mutation or natural selection; they have been here since the very beginning. Gravity, as well as every other intricate physical law and constant, is actually an absolute testimony to creation.

Newtons scooter
A toy called a "Newton's scooter" is propelled by the principle behind Newton's third law of motion. The principle is that, for each action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This means that an object pushed off the scooter itself pushes back on the scooter with the same force. The scooter is thus propelled forward. Newton's scooter also goes by the name "Newton's car." I also made this project in school. I had a lot of fun making this project with my friends. My teacher told us to try that if it would work. We tried it, and guess what, it work.

Force
Force is any influence that tends to change a body's state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line. A force is a push or a pull on an object. It will cause a stationary object to move or a moving object to change direction, slow down, or speed up. It may, if the body is unable to move freely, result in the body's deformation. Force is a vector quantity, possessing both magnitude and direction; its SI unit is the Newton. Forces that make contact with an object are called contact forces. Examples are normal push/pull force, surface tension, air resistance, and frictional forces. Forces that are able to cause a push/pull without making contact with an object are called non-contact forces. Examples are magnetic force, gravity, and electric force.

Famous quotes
You can't blame gravity for falling in love. Albert Einstein As for the forces, electromagnetism and gravity we experience in everyday life. But the weak and strong forces are beyond our ordinary experience. So in physics, lots of the basic building blocks take 20th- or perhaps 21st-century equipment to explore. Edward Witten Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have - life itself. Walter Anderson

I think that gravity sets into everything, including careers, but pendulums do swing and mountains do become valleys after a while... if you keep on walking. Sylvester Stallone
