SAFETYTEST GmbH A3-S Tester for Arc Welding Equipment

Complies to the standard draft IEC 60974-4 Control and testing procedure via a PC Test procedures easily adaptable Protocol Inventory and Test list generation via MS WORD Storing the data in an ACCESS database Simple change of the WORD protocol templates possible

Features System requirements

The tester A3-S is PC-controlled and complies to standard for repetitive testing of arc welding machines. The tester housing is a suitcase weighing approximately 5 kg. Dimensions approximately 300mm x 250mm x 200mm. It contains sockets for 16 A AC, 16 3 phase and 32 A 3 phase machines. There are two power supply cords, one for 16 AC and one CEE 16 A three phase. The simple to use software A3-S.Remote is contained in the package. It contains the tools to create individual procedures for different welding machines. The visual inspection as well as the individual test functions comply with the requirements of the draft standard. The testing procedure runs automatically. After testing a protocol may be printed by exporting the data to a WORD template. The protocol templates can be adjusted to company specific needs ( e. g. logo or formatting). All measurements are automatically stored in an ACCESS database and test protocols of the stored records may be printed at any time. Inventory data and testing schedules is added to the test data. Individual lists may be composed and printed using simple to use but very powerful filter functions. Type specific test procedures are automatically started when a welding machine is tested the second time. Administrative and user passwords may be allocated. Data can be imported and exported and the system can be configured as a client server system with a single database for many users.

Electrical Tests
Visual inspection using the check list of the standard. PE continuity Measuring current 200mA DC, 3-wire Insulation resistance measurement primary versus welding circuit Test voltage > 500V DC (1000 V DC) Short circuit current 1 mA. Range 30 MOhm. Insulation resistance measurement primary against body Test voltage > 500V. Short circuit current 1 mA. Range 30 MOhm. Insulation resistance measurement welding circuit against body Test voltage > 500V. Short circuit current 1 mA. Range 30 MOhm. Earth fault current Differential current measurement. Touch current of the welding circuit Measurement via 2 kOhm and a filter resembling the human body. The measurement is done in both polarities of the power supply for single phase devices with unpolarised plugs. Touch current measurement of accessible conductive part not connected to the body. Measurement via 2 kOhm and a filter resembling the human body. The measurement is done in both polarities of the power supply for single phase devices with unpolarised plugs. Open circuit voltage test of the welding circuit output voltage The measurement is done with a variable resistor (200 Ohm to 5 kOhm). AC peak or TRMS measurements are possible. Automatic test of step transformer machines.

Electrical Test
A picture is displayed for each test step. Min and max values may be checked simultaneously.
