Ordinance for the Registration of Supervisor for Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D.) Degree

O. 1. Supervisor 1.1. Appointment of Supervisor(s) (a) The DRC will appoint Supervisor(s) of Ph.D. students after obtaining their mutual consents and permission from the Vice-Chancellor. (b) Sponsored students (external registration) shall have one Supervisor from the Department (College Supervisor) and one from the parent organization (Local Supervisor).

1.2. Eligibility of Ph.D. Guide The DRC will select and recommend the name of Ph.D. Guides to Vice-Chancellor. After permission the name can be included in the subject wise panel. The qualification of Ph.D. Guide shall be as follows: (a) (b) P.G. degree in relevant subject. Ph.D. in relevant subject.

(c) Five years P.G. teaching experience, or 15 years U.G. teaching experience substantiated by appointments as teacher (Professor/Reader/Lecturer) (d) Five year Post Graduate Research experience after doing Ph.D.

In exception cases Vice-Chancellor can relax the condition of experience. In addition to University faculty eligible, outside the University faculty and experts are also be eligible to be appointed by Vice Chancellor. 1.3. The maximum number of students, which a Supervisor can take for research work under his supervision, shall be as follows: (a) Professors and Associate Professors (b) Readers / P.G. Heads in constituent Colleges (c) Lecturers 10 07 05
