Week 7 January 23, 2012 Monday (Day 1)

Today is a Chinese new year, although its a holiday we did to do work for us to be done early in our project. We arrived in the office at 9:45pm for the 15 minutes exercise for us to be awake and alive before we started to work. Since we were not yet done fixing errors on our project last time, we planned to continue that for today. First, we checked the namespace .cs file or the code behind file if it inherits the content page of the project. Then, we tried building the project to see errors. Compiling the project was successful, the only problem that we encountered always when debugging the project was the metadata error or sometimes it was unable to load because database was located on the UNC share or sometimes errors was found on the site master page. We made search on how to fix the errors. The things we did were: 1.) rechecked the .cs file of all content pages, building the project to see if theres some errors occurred and debugging the project to display the output; 2.) rechecked the connection string on web.config file if the path was correct; 3.) reconfigure the SQL Server. After the one hour break, we resumed to work then continued what we had left. Julie already fixed our biggest problem the loading master page. Off to work.

January 24, 2012 Tuesday (Day 2)

Its our second day for this week. We arrived in the office as we usually do, have an exercise and start to work. We log in on our account in yammer, windows live messenger and skype. Aileen accessed the OJT files in cube station to see and review the next step for the continuation of our project. Today tasks were adding Final Pages and Exception Handling, e.g. global Exception Handler. As we go along on adding the final pages, we always encounter errors on the master page which has an effect on almost content pages of the project. Each of the content pages was unable to load because the master page was not fixed yet thats why we werent able to see if the alignment and the division fit the page. Metadata errors occurred when Sir James, Web Developer Head, checked our project. After a short break, we continued fixing errors on metadata. Afterwards Julie fixed the error on it. Then, we compared it to the reference, a project given on the tutorial. Log out and went home.

January 25, 2012 Wednesday (Day 3)

We arrived at the office at exactly 10:00pm and havent joined the exercise because we were late so we directly went to the main office (the hallow-log) to start our work. We continued what we had left yesterday. We checked the .Entity Data Source codes of each page then checked also the .designer file if the controls used were available on the toolbox. We built the project and errors occurred ( ajax toolkit control was not found). Thats why I asked

Aileen to download an AJAX Toolkit Control on Visual studio 2010 and extract it. The next step was to add the Ajax Control Toolkit to the Visual Studio Toolbox. Follow these steps: 1.) Launch Visual Studio and create a new ASP.NET Web Forms project or website. Open Default.aspx in the Visual Studio editor; 2.) Create a new Toolbox tab by right-clicking the Toolbox and selecting Add Tab. Name the new tab Ajax Control Toolkit; 3.) Right-click beneath the new tab and select the menu option Choose Items... Click the Browse button and browse to the folder where you extracted the Ajax Control Toolkit. Pick the AjaxControlToolkit.dll and click the OK button to close the Choose Toolbox Items dialog. After the installation, I rebuild the project one more to see if theres a new error occurred yet the compilation was successful. The main problem now was metadata errors. I, Julie review the metadata error and fixed it. Afterwards I asked Aileen to build it and view in the browser. As result there is no error occur and we view it now on the browser.

January 26, 2012 Thursday (Day 4)

As our daily routine, went to the office, have an exercise and started to work. First, we log in on our account, checked if the SQL was running on the command prompt and make it automatically running. We do search about Global.asax file; it was in the root application directory. The Global.asax file was configured so that any direct HTTP request (via URL) was rejected automatically, so users cannot download or view its contents. The ASP.NET page framework recognizes automatically any changes that were made to the Global.asax file. The framework reboots the application, which includes closing all browser sessions, flushes all state information, and restarts the application domain.

I, Julie did fixing error about the global page of our project. See inherits file of all the pages to determine where the error comes. As further, the error occurs in the product page. I started fixing it; make some code adjustment in that page. After fixing error, I build it and thanks God its successfully build. We see it on the browser to see the development of our project. I did some research about redirecting one page to another page. Download pdf files tutorial about redirecting page in ASP.NET and read it. I asked Aileen to review the URL in redirecting Product.aspx instead on the AddToCart.aspx it will direct go MyShoppingCart.aspx to view the product in the cart. But even it already applied, the functionality of it cant execute. I read again the tutorial and create another project then create some pages that will be useful in redirect page to another. Try to apply redirecting page to it. I build it and it was successfully built then I see on the browser. As result the home page instead of going to Product.aspx it will directly go to Category.aspx. Stop doing project. Log out and go home.

January 27, 2012 Friday (Day 5)

Went to the office, log in on time recorder, have an exercise. Went into the hallow-log and set-up our workstation. Log in Yammer, Skype, Windows Live Messenger and Virtual Wonder Webmail. Review the SEO reports in one of website of subscriber of virtual-wonders. I also view the report of SEO in www.freedomproject.com. View one note of the company in windows sky drive. See all the new update about the project development and update our project report in the trainees files.

We access company files in cubes station. Check some blog that Sir James gave to us. We continue doing our project. During the execution of our project the database connection has build. I, Julie configure the Sql Server. After configuration, I checked the connection finally it was successes. I also check the Data Source Control of each entity. We made some adjustment in some pages and build our project and view the result of it on the browser. In making adjustment error appear cant load the master page. I had a hard time fixing the error but thank to God after a long hour I already fixed it.
