BARBARA MORRISON COMES TO THE STUDIO FOR HER ASHFORD EXPERIENCE

Dr. Barbara Morrison, associate professor at Ursuline College Breen School of Nursing outside Cleveland, Ohio, as well as owner and president of DrBarbCNM, has an abundance of information to share and shed light on the best methods to attach and bond to newborn infants while enhancing social, emotional, and cognitive brain development, and facilitate breastfeeding with one activity Kangaroo Care. Ashford Experience is proud to present, a certified Kanguru (or Kangaroo Care Provider) and nurse midwife, the woman with answers to many questions and concerns that new parents may have. She is actively involved in promoting the best healthcare practices by synthesizing research literature to understand why and how Kangaroo Care and breastfeeding enhance bonding and attachment. Both practices facilitate optimal social and cognitive brain development and modulate stress during the time immediately after birth,

influencing relationships and responses for the rest of the newborn, mother and familys lives. Dr. Barbara obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the College of Wooster; a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Columbia University; a Master of Nursing in Primary Healthcare from the University of Washington; a Post-Masters Certificate in Nurse Midwifery; and her Ph. D. in Nurse Midwifery/Maternal Child Nursing degree from the University of Illinois. With all of her experience, she has developed a passion to support new families and educate parents and healthcare providers about the best and simplest developmental care that can be provide to newborns. OWEN DUGGAN BRINGS SOME MUSICAL GENIUS TO ASHFORD RADIO

A multiinstrumentalist and energetic performer Owen sings and plays guitar, banjo, keyboard, flute and Irish penny whistle. In 2008 he signed a two-disc distribution deal with MRI Associated Labels (RED/Sony) and in 2009 he presented his music at the New York Toy Fair. His first CD, An Elephant Never Forgets has won multiple awards internationally including a National Parenting Publications gold medal, Parents Choice silver medal, and top 10 hit rating from the International Association of Independent Recording Artists.
