U.S. Treasurys Budget Formulation and Execution Manager (BFEM)
Treasury recognized that all agencies faced the same challenges when it came to annual budget development Made BFEM available as a shared application, allowing other agencies to leverage its infrastructure BFEM now used by six Cabinet agencies and 13 total agencies

Utah Connect
Provides aggregation point for all levels of government social media feeds In June 2011, Utah social media campaign using Twitter reached more than 2.2 million people in first three days

Addressing Significant Challenges


Pennsylvania linked 2 million job seekers to 95,000 employers with a state-of-the-art one-stop assistance tool U.S. Department of Education provided a single, secure and convenient entry point for public inquiries U.S. Department of Health and Human Services developed a tool to help 90 million beneficiaries U.S. Department of Labor partnered with 17 agencies to deliver a cloud-based capability that brought together 1,000 sources of state and federal benefits information

Innovating Ways to Better Connect Citizens/Employees


West Virginias EGov project delivered a cloud-based, statewide capability that connects communities and high school students
Overcame economic conditions that leave counties and communities unable to provide IT capabilities

Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in Florida created a system that remotely links interpreters with the Court
Provided on call, round-the-clock access to interpreters through courtroom security cameras and an audio platform

U.S. Department of Homeland Security consolidated 32 globally distributed directory environments into one Another DHS project consolidated 43 data centers into two Enterprise Data Centers Minnesota became first U.S. state to announce an enterprise-wide cloud computing agreement NASA created a single enterprise-level IT service across its ten NASA Centers Los Alamos National Lab built a cloud solution that retired more than 100 servers and 3 data centers

Be persistent winning is best project at that right time, if you didnt win today, try again! Keep it simple success means translating complex technical issues in a simple, straightforward way that executives can understand Think big picture think outside your organization, department or even your agency! Understand & work the forces for change not only does success depend upon senior management advocacy but it requires the lightening rods who will be the champions to sell your story! Collaborate continually Cross functional collaboration is essential to successfully executing change projects
