For the first three terms of the year, each Team organises a school disco; our first school disco for the year will be run by Tainui. The Tainui Disco is next Wednesday (21st March) from 7.00pm-9.00pm. The theme is Walk the Red Carpet (ie: you may come along dressed as a famous celebrity). Students must receive an invitation from school to be able to purchase a ticket which will be $3.00 each. Invitations will be handed out tomorrow. Students with excessive demerit points for the term will not receive an invitation as part of our Choices programme. Food, drinks & glow products will be available for purchase at the disco. No child will leave the hall during the time of the disco. Children must be collected from the school hall by an adult at 9.00pm.
Welcome to our Japanese students and teachers from Makuhari Junior High School. Today saw the arrival of our exchange group from Japan. They will be in our school for about 10 days and will spend some of the time in classes with our students and some of the time visiting places like Rotorua and Waitomo. Tomorrow we will holding a Powhiri as a formal welcome. This exchange has been a part of our school programme for about 18 years now and each year we offer the chance for our year 8 students to return to Japan and spend a couple of weeks living with a Japanese family and enjoying the attractions of Tokyo. Thank you very much to the families who are hosting a student, and welcoming them into your homes. We hope your family enjoys the opportunity to get to know someone from another culture.
There will be a mufti day held on Thursday 22nd March (gold coin donation to a student council chosen activity). Please wear clothing suitable for school and for P.E.

Year 7 Team - Last Tuesday, the Year 7 boys cricket team headed to Steele Park in Hamilton to compete in the annual InterIntermediate Cricket Competition. We played three games winning two comfortably and losing narrowly to Berkley Normal Middle School in the first game we played. Year 8 Team - The Year 8 boys cricket faced some strong competition and had three losses but played with great spirit and had moments of brilliance in each game whether with the bat or the ball. Thank you to the parents for their help throughout the day.
