Stage Lighting The stage lighting installation is being designed to international standards.

Stage lighting control The design will incorporate a computerized control desk and console, especially selected for lyric theatre, opera and drama use. The specified control system will be capable of controlling both manually directed and intelligent luminaries, colour change devices and the like, and will incorporate computer back-up and plotting facilities. Stage lighting dimmers There will be a total of 600 stage lighting dimmers and probably about 20 auditorium decorative lighting dimmers, using a mixture of 2.5kW, 5kW and 10kW units, complete with the necessary control system interfaces. Luminaires There will be approximately 580 luminaires of various types provided, including follow spots, cyclorama floods, profiles, fresnels, beam lights, etc. Colour changers Computer controlled colour change units will be provided for many of the luminaries, notably those for which access is not particularly easy. Accessories An appropriate assortment of extension cables, color media, stands, lighting towers, luminaries suspension ladders and similar devices; boom arms, clamps and accessories will be provided as befitting a theatre of international standard Flexibility For the benefit of good lighting design, almost all stage lighting luminaires will be movable and capable of being unplugged, manually transported and re-plugged, to suit the particular lighting needs of each and every production. Stage lighting suspensions The stage lighting luminaries will be suspended from a very wide variety of positions around the auditorium and stage. These will include the auditorium and the stage lighting, bridges, galleries, catwalks, booms, perches, lighting ladders, side lighting slots, stage lighting slots, stage lighting bars (pipes or barrels) etc

B) Auditorium decorative and stage working lights Auditorium decorative lighting Guidance will be given to the architect, his interior designer for the auditorium and to the electrical engineers, by means of outline design proposals for the auditorium decorative lighting system, in order to ensure its proper integration with the stage lighting control system. The auditorium decorative lighting will be designed with visual flexibility in mind and a control system specified to enable its use, with variations, to suit many different types of theatrical performance. All circuits of the auditorium will be dimmable Stage and auditorium working lights A specialized system will be necessary and devised to control, with adaptability in use, of the four systems necessary for lighting certain areas of the auditorium and stage other than the stage itself during performance. These systems will be presented for integration and implementation by the electrical engineers with their own proposals for the necessary emergency and secondary lighting systems of the building as a whole.
