The NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) oversees implementation of the Discharges of Petroleum and Other Hazardous Substances (DPHS) rules (N.J.A.C. 7:1E et seq.) that impact major facilities throughout the State. As part of these regulations, major facilities are required to prepare, submit and update Discharge Prevention Containment and Countermeasure (DPCC) plans and Discharge Cleanup and Removal (DCR) plans with the NJDEP. This one-day workshop will provide guidance on: preparing updates to current DPCC and DCR plans steps to ensure compliance with the plans and NJDEP rules a discussion of the federal Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) sister program, and how discharges will be addressed under the new Remediation of Contaminated Site rule to be adopted this year Overview of DPHS rules and related State/Federal Programs Updates to DPCC and DCR plans Requirements for Discharge Notication, Response and Reporting Environmentally Sensitive Areas Protection Plan Updates NJDEP Procedures for Annual Audits and Post-incident Inspections Incorporation of DPHS requirements into Facility Training and Emergency Preparedness Programs Overview of Federal Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure Requirements Overview of Administrative Requirements for Remediation of Contaminated Sites regulation impact on Discharge Prevention Rules

Instructors from the NJDEP Division of Land Use Regulation (DLUR) will provide you with a review of the Freshwater Wetlands Protection Act rules, readopted October 6, 2008. Participants will learn when and how to apply for Letters of Interpretation, General Permits, Individual Freshwater Wetlands and State Open Water Fill Permits, as well as Transition Area Waivers.

Staying current with new regulations and maintaining compliance with all of the states air permitting regulations (not to mention avoiding nes, penalties and pollution problems) is paramount to the success of any business. All industry, consultant and municipal staff responsible for writing Air Permits should attend this workshop. This two-day workshop will help guide you through the air permitting system in New Jersey. This workshop has been updated to inform attendees of the latest processes and procedures that will result in the most timely and exible permits. Our team of experienced instructors will help you understand what permits you need, how to get them and what to do after you have them. They will also give you an insiders guide to the NJDEP website and show you how to streamline the permit application process online. Learn how to save time and money while keeping our air clean!
