Open Submission Application Pack 2012

On Saturday the 12th of May 2012 The Gospel Hall Gallery & Soup Lab will be opening their doors for the first time. To celebrate we have decided to open our first exhibition up to public submissions We are looking for anything and everything, from writing, discussions, collections, films, painting, printing, photography, performance, sculpture or knitting You can be based anywhere in the world, but the work does need to make it's way to us, so no 16foot sculptures from Finland please! The closing date for entries is Sunday the 15th of April Entries should be emailed to : submissions@gospelhallgallery.org

Guidelines for submission - what we need :


1. Contact details 2. An artist bio concisely describing your practice 3. A title and brief supporting statement for each submitted work 4. Documentation of 2D & 3D work as digital photos - moving image entries should be hosted online with links emailed to us
*Flickr is the best place to host images, while Vimeo is best for moving image

5. The exact dimensions of work as well as the materials used 6. Any specific technical requirements the work may have when displayed

Guidelines for submission - terms & conditions :


1. No fee is charged to artists for submissions 2. Any costs incurred transporting work to and from the gallery are the artists liability 3. Gospel Hall Gallery will collect 15% commission on any work sold during the period of the exhibition 4. All curatorial decisions are to be made by the Co-Directors of Gospel Hall Gallery 5. Whilst the utmost care will be taken of all work submitted, Gospel Hall Gallery will not be liable for any damage to work, whether such damage is caused by the organizers, staff or otherwise and entrants are strongly advised to arrange their own insurance for works entered. 6. Any titles, images and/or descriptions of work submitted by the artist may be included in any promotional digital or print material 7. Standard copyright practice is adhered to. The artist, by accepting these terms and conditions confirms that all work submitted is their own. Gospel Hall Gallery shall not be liable for infringements of copyright by the artists. 8. Any images of the exhibition are to be used freely by Gospel Hall Gallery in any future publications 9. The Gospel Hall Gallery reserves the right to withdraw any work at any point up to and during the exhibition

The Gospel Hall Gallery is a not for profit exhibition and project space for contemporary art of all genres Soup Lab, housed within The Gospel Hall, is a not for profit facility providing support for artists exploring lens based media
