Benefits for your application

Klberbio EG 2-150 is suitable for the lubrication of ships gearboxes, particularly for thrusters and rudder propeller gears. Readily biodegradable and non-toxic to marine organisms, therefore less environmental impact in the event of leakage. Klberbio EG 2-150 has a high scuffing resistance, protecting gear teeth reliably against fretting damage even at high peak loads. Klberbio EG 2-150 has a longer service life than mineral oils owing to its good stability towards ageing, oxidation and hydrolysis. Consequently, oil changes are required less often, enabling a reduction of maintenance and disposal costs. Sealing rings made of NBR materials for RADIAMATIC and ROTOMATIC seals made by Merkel Freudenberg Fluidtechnic GmbH for turning shafts in mechanical rudder propellers and those made of FPM material Viton Pod for SIMPLEX COMPACT propeller shaft seals are resistant to Klberbio EG 2-150, preventing leakages and impurities.

Description
Kl berbio EG 2-150 is a readily biodegradable gear oil based on synthetic ester. Its biodegradability acc. to OECD 301 F is 60 % after 28 days. The oil is rated as non-toxic according to the tests OECD 201(EC50), OECD 202 (EC50) and OECD 203 (LC50). In all three tests, EC50/LC50 is > 1000 mg/l. Kl berbio EG 2-150 has a high scuffing resistance, protecting gear teeth reliably against fretting damage even at high peak loads. The oil successfully passed the standard FAG FE 8 test for gear oils, proving its good wear protection for rolling bearings.

We recommend cleaning the lubrication points or flushing the gear with Kl berbio EG 2-150 prior to changeover. Where the FPM elastomer 'Viton Pod' is used in the SIMPLEX COMPACT seal, changeover from a mineral oil to Kl berbio EG 2-150 is possible. Please bear in mind that other elastomer materials used in radial shaft seals can behave differently. Therefore, compatibility tests with Kl berbio EG 2-150 have to be conducted prior to application.

Minimum shelf life

The minimum shelf life is approx. 24 months if the product is stored in its unopened original container in a dry, frost-free place.

Kl berbio EG 2-150 was developed for the lubrication of ships gearboxes, particularly for thrusters and rudder propellers. Kl berbio EG 2-150 can be used in gears with wet-running multiple disc clutches made by Ortlinghaus-Werke GmbH.
