Shot 3 Scene (Brittany) (music plays in background): Teacher is at her desk, typing an e-mail to the technology specialist.

The teacher is frustrated and on the edge of tears as she types an e-mail requesting help. Shot 4 Scene (Andrea) (computer and e-mail notification sound): Technology specialist is sitting at her desk, working, and she gets an e-mail notification (notification sound). She reads the e-mail aloud. Ms. Shelnutt, I just had the most horrible first day in the history of first days! I know I am a first year teacher, but they stuck me by the music room! So, lucky me, I got to hear children bang on instruments all day long as well Mr. Richards own music, which he plays loudly over his sound system. My students could not hear me at all today. I was yelling all day long! My voice is horse, I am tired, and I do not think I can go another day with out some sort of microphone or equipment device to enable my students to hear me. Please, Ms. Shelnutt, do you have anything to help?! Sincerely, A tired and discouraged first year teacher, Ms. Reece Shot 5 Scene (Brittany and Andrea) (music blaring in background): Technology specialist enters the classroom as the music plays aloud. Shot 6 Scene (Brittany and Andrea) (music cuts off): The technology specialist is near teacher. The music cuts off before conversation begins. Brittany: Thank goodness!!! Its been playing all day!!! Andrea: (smile) Well, Im here to save the day, and the rest of the school year! This is the REDCAT audio device. It will amplify your voice throughout the classroom so your students can hear you. Have you ever used a CD player or audio system before? Brittany: Yes. Andrea: Then this will be easy and fun for you. Brittany: How does it work? Are you sure it is easy to use? It seems complex. Andrea: Yes, Ill show you.

Shot 7 Scene (Brittany and Andrea) (REDCAT audio equipment and table available for display): The technology specialist begins unpacking the audio device and placing equipment on the table. Andrea (unpacks equipment): This is the REDCAT infrared receiver/amplifier and stand (point to device). This is the power supply (point). This is the REDMIKE classroom microphone (point).

This is charging cradle and power supply (point). This is the handheld mic and charging cable (point). Brittany (looking hopeful but concerned): What is this again (points to amplifier and receiver)? Andrea: That is the amplifier and receiver (point to equipment). Shot 8 Scene (Brittany and Andrea) (REDCAT audio equipment and table available for display).: The technology specialist begins to explain each piece. The REDCAT infrared receiver/amplifier and stand is the equipment that your voice will be amplified from. The power supply charges the REDCAT system. The REDMIKE classroom microphone will be used by you and worn around your neck. The handheld mic and charging cable is great for student use. The charging cradle and power supply is used with both types of microphones. Shot 9 Scene (Brittany and Andrea) (long shot of the classroom, audio device): Determining the correct placement of the audio device) Andrea: Now, we are going to determine the best location for the REDCAT. Brittany: What about here (points to a location) or here (points to a different location)? Andrea: Well, we have to remember a few things when we are determining the REDCATs home. The best placement for the REDCAT will be on a tabletop, at least three feet from the ground, along the back wall or side walls of the classroom. It is important that the REDCAT isnt too close to you when you are teaching, as it may result in feedback. The power source also needs to be within 7 feet of an electrical outlet. Shot 10 Scene (Brittany and Andrea) (table top): Teacher looking around to determine the best location for the REDCAT. Brittany: Lets put the REDCAT here. What do you think? (points to a table top) Andrea: Perfect! Now, lets setup the REDCAT audio device.

Shot 11 Scene (Andrea) (cord and adaptor): Close up shot of hooking up REDCAT features. Andrea: First, plug the power cord into the power adaptor. Shot 12 Scene (Andrea) (cord and adaptor): Close up shot of hooking up REDCAT features. Andrea: Next, plug the power adaptor into the input opening on the back of the unit. Andrea: Then, plug the power cord into the wall outlet. Shot 14 Scene (Andrea) (power button on side of unit): Close up shot of pushing power button. Andrea: Finally, turn the unit on by pressing the power button on the side of the unit. Shot 15 Scene (Andrea)(REDMIKE device):Close up shot of the REDMIKE device. Andrea:This is the REDMIKE. (point to REDMIKE). Shot 16 Scene (Andrea) (REDMIKE device): Close up shot of powering on the REDMIKE. Andrea: Now, we are going to turn on the REDMIKE (turn on device). Shot 17 Scene (Andrea) (REDMIKE device): Close shot of the back of the REDMIKE and the two channels. Andrea: These are the two channels on the REDMIKE-A & B (point to the channels). You choose the channel that provides the best clarity when speaking into the device. I recommend using channel A. Shot 18 Scene (Andrea and Brittany) (REDMIKE): Close up-over the shoulder shot of teachers and REDMIKE. Andrea: (placing REDMIKE over teachers neck): Again, this is the REDMIKE classroom microphone. This is what you will be speaking into when teaching. Shot 19 Scene (Andrea and Brittany) (REDMIKE): Medium shot of the teacher and technology specialist. Andrea: (adjusting lanyard) The top of the microphone should be just below your collarbone. Great! Shot 20 Scene (Andrea and Brittany) (REDMIKE): Medium shot of teacher and technology specialist. Andrea: Lets try it out! Shot 21 Scene (Andrea and Brittany) (REDCAT): Close up shot of the back of the REDCAT device and volume control. Andrea: OK-please speak in a normal voice on channel A or B. Brittany: Testing...testing...testing... Andrea: (Listening to volume changes) Excellent! Channel A works perfectly!

Shot 22 Scene (Andrea and Brittany) (REDMIKE): Medium shot of teacher and technology specialist. Teacher wearing lanyard. Begin explanation of charging device. Andrea: The REDCAT and REDMIKE are ready to be used, but they must be charged at the end of each day. Brittany: Oh, OK. How do I do that? Shot 23 Scene (Andrea and Brittany) (REDCAT charging station and pieces): Medium shot of technology specialist and teacher as technology specialist begins to explain each piece of station. Andrea: Well, this is the entire REDCAT charging station. Let me explain each piece. Brittany: OK

Andrea: You will need the power cord (point to cord) and cradle station (point to station). Of course, you will also need an electrical outlet and the REDMIKE itself. Shot 24 Scene (Andrea) (REDCAT power cord and REDMIKE): Close up shot of technology specialist placing power cord and cradle station. Andrea: To charge the device, you will first plug the power cord into the cradle station. Make sure the REDMIKE is turned off before you charge it. Just place it in the cradle charger (provide example). Shot 27 Scene (Andrea and Brittany) (REDCAT system): Medium shot of technology specialist, teacher, and device. Andrea: So, thats about it! Easy, huh?! Brittany: Yes! Andrea: Do you have any questions? Brittany: Not that I can think, right now. I know where to find you if I do.
