Along with the Ekahau Positioning Engine automatically locates people and assets across your enterprise Automatically alerts or notifies users of events, based on a variety business rules Adds visibility to critical assets and business processes Helps optimize asset utilization and workflow in your organization Presents data in a highly-visual and interactive browser based interface Ekahau Vision In connection with the Ekahau Positioning Engine, Ekahau Vision is a Web application that helps you immediately locate people and assets from virtually any computer on your network. Vision helps staff members locate their equipment, inventory, key staff members or other critical objects anywhere on their premises. It becomes the cornerstone of a system that helps your enterprise achieve maximum utility from its assets, improve workflow and productivity, and even enhance safety and security within your work environment. Easy-to-use user interface Ekahau Vision can be used by any standard Web browser. Users can browse and manage lists of items and item categories, and implement user-defined searches, usually with very little training. The intuitive interface in Vision is easy for anyone to use. Using your actual floor plans, the visual interface displays precise information in real time regarding the location (building, floor, zone) of the tracked items, timestamps of the last location update, and additional parameters, such as device type (e.g., hospital pump, forklift or laptop computer). You can customize your desktop page and have it presented in a dashboard format to display the location of items in a preferred group or category. You can show entire geographic areas, from a single floor of a building to an entire campus. It is also possible to define pre-set searches for frequent use, such as show all pumps due for January maintenance. Event notifications and visual reports The built-in event monitoring system records, reports and optionally notifies selected users when event conditions are met. Vision has multiple pre-configured event types that are fully customizable. For example, the system can be configured to open a popup window and activate an LED and buzzer on selected tags whenever a tracked item enters or exits a pre-defined zone. Alerts can be sent to an e-mail address or to selected users as a pop-up window. An option can be set where events must be acknowledged by at least one recipient (this can take place through a pop-up window or tag button press). Event history is stored in a database. Event view allows a visual display of event details, including date, time, location and who acknowledged the event.

Manage tracked items Custom icons can be assigned to items based on categories, allowing users to quickly identify different object types in real-time map view. Tag management functionality allows system administrators to commission, decommission, and categorize tracked items. Vision: a component of the Ekahau RTLS solution Ekahau Vision is an integral part of the Ekahau RTLS (Real Time Location System) solution. The Ekahau RTLS is a complete end-to-end solution for accurate real-time tracking of people and assets in hospitals, warehouses, manufacturing and industrial plants. The Ekahau RTLS can accurately track most Wi-Fi enabled devices (PDA, tablet PC or laptop) or Ekahau Wi-Fi tags attached to an asset or person. As the solution does not require any additional infrastructure on top of a standard 802.11 wireless network, its implementation is straightforward and very cost effective. Deployment Ekahau Vision is deployed on a Windows server platform and runs as a Web service. In addition to Ekahau Vision you must have installed the Ekahau Positioning Engine, which provides the location information needed. Ekahau Vision is developed using Adobes Flash based Rich Internet Application (RIA), which delivers an extensible environment for future features and an easy-to-use intuitive working environment.
