USC Marshall Undergraduate Student Services Office Graduate Assistant

The USC Marshall Undergraduate Student Services Office manages a variety of co-curricular programming in the areas of career development, leadership development, and international education for its 3,600 undergraduate business majors and 800 minors. We are a fast-paced, hardworking office and we are seeking a graduate assistant to provide support for our many student affairs programs. Our signature programs include: Marshall Career Source database (internship, job and event database) Marshall Recruiter Receptions (200 students; 40 companies per event) Career Advantage Program - Alumni Mentoring Program (400 students; 125 alums) Career Advisement USC Career Fest BRIDGE Externship Program 40 student organizations 32 International Exchange Programs 14 Global summer internship programs 14 Weeklong international experiential programs Marshall International Case Competition The primary job responsibilities include: event planning, creating and updating marketing materials, newsletters, social media, web pages and career development materials; career advising; assisting staff with application reviews, student interviews and presentations; facilitating information sessions and workshops; attending our office events, assisting the Advising Office with orientation sessions and registration; drafting study abroad proposals; and administrative duties (i.e., front office coverage, data entry, etc.). The position will begin in May, 2012 and will continue during the 2012-2013 academic year. Ideally, we want our GA to stay with us for two academic years. We are looking for a commitment of 10-15 hours per week. The compensation will be $13-15 per hour and work study is preferred. We have hired two PASA graduate interns since 2008 both stayed with us two years and secured full time positions in Development and Academic/Career Advising. We are committed to mentoring and coaching our graduate assistants so they can learn and thrive in future roles in higher education or in the non-profit sector.
