Ms. Kennedy and Ms. Corbetts 9th grade students wrapped up their in-depth study of issues affecting our elderly population by creating VoiceThread presentations highlighting their research and their interviews of senior citizens. http://theunquietlibrary.libguides.com/older After reading Homers The Odyssey, Ms. Jacksons 10th grade students researched and wrote papers about modern-day heroes. http://theunquietlibrary.libguides.com/jackson-hero Ms. Bennetts 10th graders created poetry portfolios, incorporating explications and analyses of a variety of poems they researched and read, as well as their own original poetry. http://theunquietlibrary.libguides.com/poetry-bennett--lawson-2011 Ms. Biellos history students began work on What If? project, using primary source information to hypothesize the effects of changing selected historical events. The project is being modeled after the work of teacher Diane Laufenberg. http://theunquietlibrary.libguides.com/biello-whatif Ms. Lester and Ms. Hamiltons Senior Lit./Comp. students began preparation for research projects incorporating Personal Learning Environments (PLEs) using Netvibes. http://theunquietlibrary.libguides.com/media21-spring2012 Ms. Hamilton created a book tasting for Ms. Lesters Media 21 cohort students as a springboard into a unit of inquiry on war and veterans. http://theunquietlibrarian.wordpress.com/2012/02/09/book-tasting-tweaks-late-winter-2012/ Mr. Fosters 9th grade Current Issues students engaged in current events research, creating summaries and reflections on researched articles and posting their work to the class wiki. http://theunquietlibrary.libguides.com/foster2012 In conjunction with reading William Shakespeares Romeo & Juliet, Ms. Maxwells Honors 9th Grade Lit./Comp. students researched various topics related to the Renaissance in order to create formal research papers on topics of their selection. http://theunquietlibrary.libguides.com/maxwell-9th-winter2012 Mr. Hubbards Law & Justice students completed CERT Disaster projects in which they researched a major event (disaster) and created Power Point presentations illustrating the details of the event and its impact. http://theunquietlibrary.libguides.com/hubbarddisaster2012 Purchased and introduced EasyBib, an automatic bibliography composer to assist students in more easily citing and formatting research sources quickly and accurately. This software has been purchased to take the place of NoodleTools. Transition to the new service has been very smooth. http://theunquietlibrary.libguides.com/easybib
