Information about the class: I have been teaching this class since beginning of this school year. Two of the students were in last years Reception class and had had English classes with their educator. Another student has studied German in preschool and, being an auditory learner, she has been able to develop a very good pronunciation. The class is quite homogenous, though I do have three students who struggle with pronunciation because of I have been following the text book with all students, but have added some practical activities (experiments, arts and crafts), stories and songs for further practice. Main aim: To review parts of the body in the context of an authentic story Subsidiary aim: 1. Vocabulary: to name these parts of the body- eyes, arms, back, legs, head, tail, nose, mouth To recognize three animals- cow, horse, fox 2. Structure: to repeat the structure Run, run as fast as you can! You cant catch me! Im the gingerbread man! 3. Listening: to listen for gist Personal aim: to improve storytelling techniques to keep students interest Materials (including source): The Gingerbread Man, Classic Tales Collection, Oxford University press Assumptions: stdts should be familiar with some of the body parts- eyes, arms, head Anticipated difficulties with tasks: Stdts might have trouble with the meaning of the story Solutions: Ask comprehension questions
