This analog input subsystem employs solid-state multiplexers, an 8-bit microprocessor, programmable gain amplifier, analog-to-digital convertor and multiple precision references to optimize speed, resolution and linearity. These features provide an analog input interface with: Up to 32 bipolar or unipolar inputs, including a wide range of industry standard current inputs using precision scaling resistors Auto-calibration that compensates for gain error, offset error and two segment non-linearity error; requires no manual adjustments; and ensures accuracy and temperature stability Optional numeric analog-to-digital scaling that supports entry of unique offset and full scale values for each input

D20 S STATUS INPUT MODULE

User Configurable Status Inputs
Collection, processing and reporting of various types of contact inputs are handled by the D20 S status input module. The D20 S is capable of reading 64 discrete digital inputs. All digital inputs are bipolar and optically isolated, with each group of eight inputs sharing a common return or contact wetting. The microprocessor-based D20 S scans, filters and processes contact inputs to monitor the status/condition of devices and measure their changes in state. The flexibility and reliability of the D20 S can be seen in the following features: Variety of input types configurable per point, including status, SOE or accumulator, and with variable debounce on a point by point basis Chatter filtering to prevent reporting of unwanted changes to host Time tagging of changes as detected to a resolution of 1ms and placed in FIFO buffer for transmission to host Contact wetting provided from either the on board D20 power supply or external supply, such as the station battery. Reliable And Secure Controls
D20/D200 control commands are handled by the D20 K control output module. Depending on the application, dual control, direct operate and multiple Raise/Lower controls are supported in D20 K operations. The relay output subsystem consists of a standard Wesdac D20 K logic panel and a choice of Westerm D20 K relay termination panels, each with 32 point relays plus Master Trip/Close relays. For heavy duty controls, interposing relay panels are available. Reliability and security are of utmost importance in issuing controls. The D20 K incorporates interlocking hardware protection techniques and software algorithms to guard against false output selection due to a single component failure, erroneous address or selection decoding. Among its security features, the D20 K offers: Master Trip/Close relay and point selection relay used to define the desired control point and energize the appropriate Trip or Close bus for each control output; this dramatically cuts hardware costs Select-check-execute functionality (used with the D20 M) to provide highly secure operation which is especially essential in critical situations, such as Trip/Close operations of power circuit breakers; only one point can be operated at a time, and each command involves a series of steps to confirm and validate controls received from the master Single component failure protection to prevent misoperation Regular coil status check for hardware component failure; error causes module shutdown Local/Remote switch to manually disable relay coil power and contact wetting supply during local maintenance Optional current limit scheme on interposer relays The D20 K control output module is the most flexible and reliable relay output subsystem available in a substation remote terminal unit.
