Perform root-cause analysis across all enterprise components including infrastructure, servers, software, processes and policies. Provide recommendations to eliminate and prevent reoccurring enterprise problems. Key Contributions: Hire, train, manage, mentor, and bench marked a team of four individuals spanning both desktop and server technologies. Design, implement, and maintain a series of proactive scripted processes using VBScript and KIXTART on both servers and desktops to gather hardware/software data, check vital services for proper operation, Windows Administrative group changes, and possible virus/trojan behavior that was not being detected by the state provided anti-virus (Lightspeed). Ported existing VBScript based logon script to KIXTART to improve performance and ease of management. Continue to manage and improve the KIXTART logon script as new requirements arise. Work with management to design, implement, and maintain a formal change management process. Work closely with the Desktop Team Lead to author process and procedure documentation easily accessible to the desktop technicians. This results in a more understandable and targeted implementation of those processes and procedures. Design, implement, and maintain server installation process and procedures as well as performing server installations and repair. Design, implement, and maintain a single unified master image across more than 15 desktop PC models reducing complexity of deployment resulting in significant cost savings. Design, implement, and maintain a application automation/packaging process utilizing Wise Packaging products, WixEdit, and various scripting languages resulting in consistent installations across the enterprise. Deploy software to the desktop utilizing Altiris Deployment Solution and scripted processes where required. Design, implement, and maintain a server/desktop virtualization strategy. Due to cost constraints we utilize VMware Server to host virtual guests running Windows XP, Windows 2003, and Debian Linux. This has resulted in lower expenditures for hardware and energy. Design, implement, and maintain monitoring of LAN, WAN, and server equipment utilizing Ipswitch WhatsUp Gold and NfSen (Cisco NetFlow Data collection) allowing IT to react quickly to performance issues or outages across the enterprise. Designed and implemented the removal of Lightspeed and the deployment of Symantec Endpoint Protection to the desktop. Working with Symantec Support to correct a handle leak in the SEP Manager process. Work with management to develop a hardware life-cycle management strategy which assists in financial and expenditure planning. Design, implement, and maintain patch management via WSUS.
