PRODUCTS PRODUCED BY VKS FARMS BANANA At VKS, they are engaged in the export of Farm Fresh Cavendish Bananas from Theni District, Tamilnadu, India. With their state-of-the-art infrastructure, they produce Top Quality Premium Bananas "VKS FARM FRESH BANANAS". Location The Pack House Unit is located very close to the banana cultivation area and no plantation is further than 40 kms from the pack house. It is situated at Chinnamanur village just off the main Theni Cumbam road amidst lush green surroundings where abundant ground water and other necessary infrastructure are available. Theni is well connected with a good road terminal. The temperate climate is ideal for the cultivation of this particular Cavendish variety which is most suitable for exports. Processing

On the processing front, the company has its own field staff who are agriculture graduates well-versed in their respective fields and headed by highly experienced Field Managers. Banana processing requires state of the art facility, though the process of banana export is fairly simple. The critical parameters of temperature, fruit size, washing and grading on the basis of their length and girth, labeling and packing during the various stages of banana process invariably decide the good quality of banana. Their Pack House unit has been built to high standards of hygiene and houses the necessary equipments. Their modern facilities support the processing of Bananas, right from cutting to entire chain of process. Quality At VKS, they endeavour to assure that the quality of products conform to international standards. Their bananas are assessed for the following quality considerations: Appearance The bananas are ensured to be clean, practically free of any visible foreign matter or smell, pests, bruises and abnormal curvature. The stalk is checked to be intact, without bending, fungal damage or desiccations. Uniformity All the packages are uniform and contain only bananas of the same origin, variety and quality. Presentation The bananas are presented in hands and clusters with no more than two missing fingers. The stalk is not torn but cleanly cut, without damage to the neighbouring fingers. Packaging The materials used inside the packages are new, clean and of a quality such as to avoid causing any external or internal damage to the produce. Containers The containers are ascertained to meet the quality, hygiene, ventilation and resistance to ensure suitable handling, shipping and preservation of the bananas. CHICKEN-BONELESS BREAST VKS Farms have recently forayed into the broiler integration business. The venture was started primarily to cater to the rising demands of the domestic and international market. The integration model of growing chicken is a widely successful one. They own full value chain from parent breeders, hatcheries, and commercial broiler farms, feed mills, chicken processing plant and retail chain outlets. Within a short span, VKS farms have tremendously developed as the largest exporter of chicken eggs from India and hold 70% of the market share of egg exports from India. This has largely been made possible by their well-established supply chain and committed efforts to deliver high quality farm produce. Their farm fresh eggs and customer service have won them the patronage of customers from as far as the Middle East, Africa and Asia. HALAL BUFFALO MEAT Renowned for its quality and richness, the Indian buffalo meat is fast gaining preference all over the world. VKS Farms started buffalo meat operation in the year 2006. The meat is slaughtered in the best slaughterhouses and packed from the best-maintained pack houses in Uttar Pradesh. Care is taken to see the best food safety is ensured and packing measures are followed. They produce de-boned and de-glanded frozen buffalo meat, which is exported to Middle East and African destinations. Buffalo meat is hygienically packed in different cuts with visual lean of 98%, frozen -40C for exports in production facilities which are on par with international standards. IODIZED REFINED FREE FLOW SALT VKS Farms started trading salt from the year 2000 to African and Middle Eastern countries. In 2006, they set up their own salt refinery at Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu with a capacity of 3000 tons per month and now expanding to 6000 tons per month . The plant manufactures refined iodized and non-iodized salt. Trusalt has gained prominence as a renowned salt brand in India. Besides this, they also serve a variety of export and local market requirements. The raw salt is procured from well-maintained salt pans in Tuticorin through a strong procurement programme. The plant is installed with the most contemporary machinery to produce the best quality iodized and non-iodized salt. An experienced and professionally qualified team oversees the operations.
