MAJOR ELEMENTS OF LIFE: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) Nitrogen (helps plants grow) Oxygen (what we breathe every second) Calcium (Helps bone growth) Carbon (is the building block for life, without it cells and live couldnt form) Hydrogen ( without it, we wouldnt have any water in our body) Potassium (is essential for the proper functioning of the heart, kidneys, muscles, nerves, and digestive system. We find it in food) 7) Phosphorus= (85% of phosphorus in the body can be found in bones and teeth 8) Copper=Copper is a mineral that works with iron to form healthy red blood cells. 9) Fluoride= protects teeth from decay and cavities. 10) Zinc= Makes you grow. 2. A CAMEO OF CARBON A) The carbon atom consists of six electrons, 4 of the electrons are in its outer shell and its basically found in everything in the world, on our clothes, in our food, when we breathe out we even breathe out carbon. The carbon atom has the atomic mass is around 12.011. B) Carbon can form 4 different bonds because carbon atom has 4 valence electrons... so it can form 4 bonds. Carbon is also very unique because it can form many chains of carbon and no other element can do that. C) Without carbon, there wouldnt be any life, because it is the basic building blocks of life, without it there wouldnt be any like I said, Carbon can easily bond to other molecules like oxygen and hydrogen. Also all cells contain carbon like DNA, fats, proteins, and sugars. D) Starch is basically combining sugars, to put it simply and not to technical (trust me its confusing) 2 Sugar molecules can combine with one another to form large molecules 3. MAJOR MACROMOLECULES: A) A carbohydrate is basically according to its definition is a large group of compound (including sugars, starch, and cellulose) which contain carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen and can be broken down for energy. Crabs (short for carbohydrates) is a unique in the way that how it can release energy so fast into the body. B) Proteins are large molecules consisting of amino acids which our bodies and our cells need to work properly, also Protein accounts for 20% of our total body weight.

C) The definition of a lipid is a class of organic compounds that are fatty acids they can be in Chips, cookies, basically anything heavily fatty, but it isnt all bad, it can be used to protect your organs. It can also be used as long term energy that is stored in fat. D) Nucleic Acid is the building blocks of RNA and DNA which store the genetic material of your body basically what makes you well. You.
