Lab: Kawazoe Laboratory Duration: Jan 12 - Feb10, 2010 (One month) Purpose of visit: Collaborative research Research Experience: Five years post M.Sc., research experience, July 2007 till date My research activity started with the project entitled Interaction of molecules with carbon nanotubes and functionalization for hydrogen storage during my Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) course (July 2007 - June 2008). I have been exposed to basic theory of carbon nanotubes and the methodology of theoretical research. After completion of M. Phil. course, I continued working as a project fellow in Asian Office of Aerospace Research and Development (AOARD) Project from July 2008 -July 2009. The hydrogen storage capability of single walled carbon nanotubes functionalized with various hydrides using DFT package, VASP is investigated. Currently, I am working as Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in CSIR Emeritus Scientist Scheme Project entitled, Investigation of functionalized Nanostructured Carbon materials as possible hydrogen storage medium. (August 2009 till date).
