Look at those disgraceful repairs, whos responsible?

I have been campaigning tirelessly for the regeneration of our town centre for over 2 years now, but I have to admit to a level of limited success. This is brought about by a very clear mix of neglect on the part of the current administration, combined with the inertia of council officers tasked in progressing the project. This is a long term problem.

THE FUTURE
For over 30 years, Denny - and Dunipace - together, have suffered at the hands of a nothing west nothing of the 3 bridges attitude of this remote and bridges distant council. That must change! With your affirmation & support, I believe that we can all have a future to be proud of. Should you honour me with the opportunity to represent YOU and our community at council level, I will do my very best to speak with Honesty, Integrity & Transparency.

COLLABORATION COLLABORATION
Working with councillors supporting our fight to have DEAR (Denny Eastern Access Road) built; the carbuncle blocks demolished; a new and relevant town centre will at long last come to fruition. I will work with Councillors Oliver & McNally for the regeneration of Denny town centre, promoting the aspirations & desires of all in our community. Strong minded councillors fighting our corner.

WHY WERE IN THIS MESS

Since I became involved with the whole sorry mess of Dennys failed regeneration, nothing has surprised me regarding this administrations incompetence.
February 2010 - a demand by the Community that Falkirk initiate a Plan B. Alex Waddell voted it down. (And hes the chair of the Denny Development Group!) Henry Boot - expected to submit a planning application in :2007 Didnt happen. 2009 Didnt happen again! 2011 Still didnt happen!! 2011(Sept) Henry Boot dumped! 2005-2011 Nothing happened at all. 2012 Wast asted Year ears! 6 Wast ed Year s! 140,000 - budget set aside for H&S repairs to the derelict blocks. Incredibly, the 140,000 Carbuncle was made to look even worse by our own Council ! May 2011 - tenders go out for demolition of Blocks A & D. Falkirk Council fail to acquire Block A properties, only half the demolition goes ahead! AND it comes in 12 weeks late on a 12 week project! 6 years after the project started! What did Alex Waddell do about it? (He is the chair of the Denny Development Group after all.) August 2011 - Denny Library, already suffering closure over 2 floors. Hours are 201 trimmed as a cost-cutting exercise with scant regard to the community. October 2011 - Henry Boot plc are booted off project. And with No Public Consultation, Falkirk Council go it alone with a scheme theyd previously rejected as it, ... critically FAILS to com plete regeneration. SCANDALOUS! FAILS to comple plet SCANDAL ALOUS! 6 years - Newsletter after Newsletter (until theyre coming out our ears!), all with flaws & misinformation; a rejected plan; no vision. Alex Waddell, Chair of the Denny Development Group has approved them all. Ensure you vote in someone who is not afraid to fight on your behalf.

NEEDS
What Denny needs is a voice. For too long people have taken your vote, sat back on their laurels and picked up their attendance money with no accountability to you the general public.
