The difference between two station are also measured side by side. The fore bearing and back bearing of all station are taken is the same way length between the two successive station are measured. ESTIMATION OF AREA OF THE FIELD BY CHAIN SURVEYING Aim: To compute the area by using chain surveying Instruments: Procedure: The field where area is to be calculated is selected. Arrows and ranging rods were set at favorable points say (ABCDE) around the field. Length of sides between the ranging rods are measured by using chain. DETERMINATION OF HEIGHT OF THE TEMPLE Aim: To find the reduced level of the given hill top using plane method. Instrument used: Formula used: (1) D= (S+btan2)/(tan1-tan2) Where, D= Distance between stations. S= Staff reading intercept. = Vertical angle. B= Horizontal distance between two stations. (2) V= D tan V= Vertical intercept. (3) R.L. of the station=B.M. + V+h Procedure: The reconnaissance survey was carried out. The two instrument station's A and B were selected on a fairly leveled ground. The distance between the two instrument stations were measured. The instrument was set upon a first instrument stations and adjustments were done. The levelling staff was placed towards the temple and bisected accurated and vertical angle was taken. ESTIMATION OF AREA BY PLANE TABLE RADIATION METHOD Aim: To determine the area of the plot by plane table radiation method. Instrument used: Method: Procedure: The table was set in the field and all the preliminary adjustments were carried out at the point. The instrument station was determined using five point problem with reference to the five points in the given plot. The various point of the plot visible from where the plane table was set were marked on the sheet by radiation method. The above procedure was followed and various points were obtained through rays drawn from the center and layout was drawn. The area of the layout obtained can be calculated by measuring the length of each rays and the intersection of two points along the layout. Radiation is the method of drawing rays in the direction of the object and marking the points with its distance on the ray.
