The Frederick Film Festival 2012 The 2012 Frederick Film Festival, the 4th year film event

bringing premiere film s, film professionals, and special film events has entered its final month of fi lm submissions for the upcoming June 22-24, 2012 event. April 5, 50 short Cultural cted for ominated 2012 -- The festival will feature about a dozen feature films and over films spread over two venues: The Weinberg Center for the Arts and The Arts Center in downtown Frederick, Maryland. Feature films already sele this years event include the SXSW premiere feature Pavilion, the Oscar n short Time Freak, and the acclaimed thriller Pig.

This year the festival continues to highlight Frederick regional film with multi ple shorts and feature films made in or around Maryland. Filmmaker guests, cast, and crew members will be on hand throughout the weekend and there are numerous opportunities for audience members to interact with the filmmakers as well as lo cal community members about the topics of the films. Other pre-festival events scheduled for this year include international childrens movies at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center on June 2 and 3, a docume ntary on Frederick artist Charles Forsythe screened at an event with the artist and the filmmaker present, a kickoff musical event, and a special feature called Eduardo Sanchez Presents where Sanchez, director of The Blair Witch Project, will ho st a screening of a film of his choice late into the evening. The final deadline for consideration in this years festival is April 30, 2012 (film must be postmarked by that date). The Frederick Film Festival the F3 is a result of a partnership between Fredericks premiere performing arts venue, the Weinberg Center for the Arts, and Fredericks film organization CinemArts, who have been bringing underscreened, independent, and foreign film to Frederick on a biweekly basis for nearly 7 years. The purpose of the partnership is to provide an opportunity for a world-class fi lm festival in Frederick and to promote a wide range of films. Films on the sche dule include acclaimed foreign films, documentaries and independent films, most being shown for the first time in Frederick, some for the first time in the regi on, and some for the first time on the East Coast. The F3 also features works fr om Maryland fimmakers.
