Students tend to be restless because this lesson follows the math lesson without a break. -I will allow students to stand and stretch at one point during the lesson. Students tend to zone out if they are not actively engaged and taking notes during the presentation. -I have created not taking sheets on which students must fill in the blanks. Also I have inserted pop quizzes in the form of a game show into the PowerPoint presentation. Students tend to want to share any thought that comes to their mind. -I will limit comments and say things like ok, last comment Introduction/hook (scripted) -Ok, today we are going to continue talking about The Middle Colonies. -Lesson Students will take notes during lesson. -Periodic quizzes through out lesson. What accommodations did you make to meet the full range of your students? - Revised homework packets for struggling readers. The original packets asked students to state the big idea of each section. For this reason I changed most of the questions in the revised packet to multiple choice leaving only a could of shot answer big idea questions. - I set up a listening station, which students can use in the morning to listen to the chapters on tape. I am offering this for students who have trouble comprehending informational text, however anyone can use it. - I have designated websites for students who finish early to visit. They can do extended research on Colonial America focusing on clothing daily life, history, etc. Website: http://www.history.org/history/index.cfm Closing/Wrap Up (scripted): - Ok good job today.
