THE SEVENTH- DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH

“We Need to Test the Prophets”

What the Bible says: Anyone who claims to be God’s prophet must be tested

by Scriptures. We are to reject even a prophet who performs miracles, if h

e or she falsely foretells the future (Deuteronomy 18:21-22) or guides us

toward other gods (Deuteronomy 13:1-4). The Bible warns us of false prophe ts and teachers who creep into the church to lead many astray (Matthew 24:

11, 24; Mark 13:22; 2 Timothy 4:3, 2 Peter 2:1 Jude 4) and promote “doctri nes of demons” “(1 Timothy 4:1-3). By their fruits you shall know them” (M atthew 7:15).

“Modern-day Revelation”

The Scriptures sufficient for teaching, correct, reproof, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). And while God spoke through His prophets l ong ago, in these last days He “has spoken to us by His Son” (Hebrews 1:1- 2). We must not add to or take away from what He has already revealed in t he Bible, as Ellen G. White presumptuously did in her “visions” of events in Genesis, Revelation, and other portions of Scripture (Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:6, Revelation 22:18-19).

“No-Date Setting”

Jesus said that no one but the Father knows the day nor the hour of His retu rn (Mathew 24:26, 42, 25:13; cf. Acts 1:7). Paul wrote that they day of the

Lord will come unexpectedly “as a thief in the night” (1 Thessalonians 5:1-2 ). Believers are to be ready for Christ’s return - and trust Him on the basi

s of what He has revealed. God’s Word nowhere supports a prophetic timeline

ending in 1843 or 1844, and clinging to Miller’s false prediction inevitably led the Adventists to a host of false doctrines.

DISCLAIMER:

This is a compiled list of some authors who provide their reasoning why they believe certain teachings of the Seventh-Day Adventist church are in contra diction to what God teaches in the Bible. I have not read all of the materia

l that is compiled on this list. The list is designed for your further resea

rch. Please note that even though an author may accurately point out the unb iblical flaws and errors in a certain group, this should not necessarily ins inuate that all of the author’s own viewpoints relating to the Bible are bib lically sound in all matters. All teachings of all people should be weighed against the Eternal Word of God. If we claim that we follow the God of the B ible, the God of Israel, who revealed Himself to humanity as Jesus (Yehoshua ), then we should be compelled to exalt His word over our lives as the highe st and final authority.

Some denominations have doctrinally accurate viewpoints on certain issues, b ut are wrong on others. Instead of creating unGodly promises and committing

what the Bible refers to as spiritual adultery against God, we choose rather to correct one another with the Truth of God, in a spirit of love. The Bibl

e warns us not to preach Christ out of contention, or out of strife, or neit

her by a heart that is motivated by vain glory. True Christian unity should

be founded on the Truth of the Gospel message. It is the responsibility of C hristians to study to show ourselves approved, and reveal to the world that the foundation we are standing on is the Truth. Jesus said those who continu

e in His Word are His disciples indeed. If you desire to learn, trust in God

, keep in His Word, ask for Jesus’ help, and don’t stop seeking the Truth.

~ Whoever transgresses, and stays not in the doctrine of Christ, has not God.

He that stays in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son. - 2 John 1:9 ~

~ Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offenc

es contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. - Roma ns 16:17 ~

~ By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you

, unless ye have believed in vain. - 1 Corinthians 15:2 ~

There is no person on earth or any denomination that I have come across, tha

t

is 100% right all of the time, on every issue. That being said, please als

o

do further research on the topics on this disc. Followers of Jesus Christ,

are given the Godly commission to share the truth and rightly divide the wo rd of truth, so that others might turn to God and receive eternal life for t heir souls. See Joshua 1:8, James 1:25, and 2 Timothy 2:15. Jesus’ Words and His Spirit of the Truth, is a sure and strong foundation. Even if someone c hooses not to follow Him, they are still ultimately subject to His Word. It is God who upholds our souls, and no one else. Be kind and respectful to tho

se who are leaders, but do not compromise on God’s Truth. It is more importa nt that we are in agreement with God, who is the King of kings and the Lord of lords, the Head Shepherd of shepherds, and the Eternal Word who never cha nges.
