This solution is cooled upto 0C and the mixture is put in another vessel and then cyanuric acid, aniline and acetone are added very slowly into it and the temperature is maintained below 0C. This solution is fed into a steam jacketed vessel and temperature is raised to 99C. Some water is added to maintain constant volume. It is then cooled and then filtered through filter press and the cake is washed in the washing tank with 2% salt solution. The cake is then dried In the vacuum drier. This dried cake is again mixed with 90% aquous alcohol and water. It is then distilled in a steam distillation kettle and the alcohol is removed by reflux condenser. The residual suspension is cooled with water containing some quantity of salt. The precipitate is then filtered through the filter press and again dried to get optical whitener granules.
