Portal Administrator Job Description Job Duties: This position functions as coordinator of the Campus Portal and provides

project management coordination and leadership for other Information Technology and campus-wide projects. Campus Portal is a password-protected Web portal that pushes relevant campus information out to users and provides convenient, single-point access to major campus systems such as the electronic calendar, campus email and webbased learning system. It is personalized for each user by university role(s) student, faculty, staff with content that enhances study, work, and campus recreation. As a campus-wide project, this Campus Portal is being developed in alignment with university strategic aims. The Portal Administrator role includes responsibility for: integrating functional requirements into portal application development; facilitating the process of planning, prioritization, development, and implementation of new content to existing and new audiences to expand the Campus Portal; operational oversight of end user experience for all production portal functions and features. Portal and general project management responsibilities include: facilitating project planning, risk management, change management, system upgrades, security, and campuswide training; collaborating with campus policy makers, resolving issues in a timely manner, advocating the use of technology to enhance the campus experience for students and faculty, and enabling staff to provide the highest quality service to the University; managing project-related communication. The position will require consulting with campus and divisional management and staff to insure that their needs are being met and assisting them in their planning efforts for future implementation and management information needs; leading a core team of staff from both technical and functional areas that will meld stakeholder needs into achievable campus goals and manage and coordinate campus efforts. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Candidates must demonstrate high levels of competence in the following areas: Knowledge of ERP/SIS portal technology and portal implementation Knowledge of project management principles, practices and techniques Knowledge of information technology planning processes Proven ability to work effectively with internal clients Proven leadership skills in an IT environment

Proven ability to work effectively with external consultants Experience in creating a strong collaborative team environment Strong communication, presentation and documentation skills
