March 30, 2012 Dear Parents/Guardians: Our students and staff have been very fortunate to have had so many volunteers supporting the various academic, athletic and cultural events that have taken place throughout the year. To recognize the importance of your support, we are hosting a Volunteer Luncheon on April 18th between 12:00 am -1:15 pm. We sincerely hope that you will join us, so that as a school community, we may have the opportunity to recognize and celebrate your gift of time. Your support of our students and programs is very important to us, and as such, we are very pleased to have this opportunity to thank you. Your contribution, big or small, is truly appreciated and has made a significant difference to our school. We sincerely hope therefore that you will join us. I am also very happy to inform you that we have nominated Maggie Kenny to represent Wolfville School at a Volunteer Recognition Awards Ceremony to be held on April 18th at the Wolfville Fire Hall. As many of you know, Maggie goes above and beyond for the students at our school. Her connections to other community support programs, such as the Inter Church Council and St. Vincent de Paul, means that she can direct and guide student families to better support their needs. From school supplies, food bank information, emergency financial support and winter clothing/ boots, Maggie is consistently there for students and families. She gives of her time, organizational skills and of her heart to many families here at our school. Her involvement in making the lives of students healthier and happier, on a basic level, means that they are better able to arrive at school to learn and participate actively in day to day activities. Wolfville School is a better place because of Maggie Kenny. Sincerely, Eric Trahan, Principal, Wolfville School
VOLUNTEER AWARDS RECEPTION Every year the Town of Wolfville holds a Volunteer Awards Reception to recognize the amazing volunteers in our community and thank them for their contributions. This year our school has nominated 3 people who have made an exceptional contribution

to our school community. Home & School Nominees: Alison and Paul Stewart. Alison and Paul Stewart have been strong advocates for, and supporters of, enriched music programming at Wolfville School. Alison has been a dedicated member of the Band Parents Association, including holding an executive position for seven years. She often worked as part of a very small parent group to keep the enriched band program running for between 120 and 150 students each year. Paul has served as Band Trip Committee Chair for 4 student band trips, each including between 50 to 60 students. Three trips took students to perform in cities in Ontario and Quebec, and one trip allowed students to attend the Halifax Music Festival. Without the good work and commitment of parents like Alison and Paul, students would not enjoy excellent music opportunities such as the Wolfville School Band Program. Alison and Paul are valuable members of our school community and we are pleased Spring is here and its time to have some FUN!
