Eduardo Olascuaga Monfort
Born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1953.
1970 –74 Studies art with Jose Montes former member of the Taller Torres García.
1974- Selected Premio Losada.
1975- First prize Premio Losada.
1976- Moves to Barcelona and starts his workshop in sculpture and painting.
1978- Selected Premio Nacional Banco de Vizcaya (drawing).
1982- Selected Mostra de cerámica dels Paisos
Catalans (bajo relieve , refractario). Museo Marian Burguès, Sabadell.
1984-Selected Premio de Cerámica Alcora, Valencia , Museo de Alcora.
1984-Selected VI Bienal de plástica y escultura de Vitoria-Gasteiz ( Euzkadi)
1986-Selected for the International Exhibition “38 ceramistes dels Països Catalans “. Museu de la
Garrotxa, Girona.
1990 – 2005 – International designer for companies in the USA and Europe.
.2006- Begins the preparation of 5 art series to be exhibited in the next years.
2009- Individual exhibition in the MAC, ( Museum of Contemporary Art ) series“ The Leisures “ :
“ Summer holidays in Montevideo “.
2009- - Individual exhibition “ Los Constructores “ in the Alianza Francesa, curated by Nelson Di
Maggio. Montevideo.
2010 – March. - Individual exhibition at the Casa de la Cultura de Minas, invited by the Intendencia
Municipal de Lavalleja.
August, 2ª- Individual exhibition at the Casa de la Cultura de Minas, invited by the Intendencia
Municipal de Lavalleja.
November, colective exhibition curada por Alicia Haber en Manzana 20 , Mercedes.
December, sala - Individual exhibition at the sala-café Güear Colonia.
2011—May.- Individual exhibition, “ Atavismos “ Alianza francesa curaduría de Jorge Abbondanza.
